Continuing to play like absolute balls. Got 3bet a bunch and took a stand and my second pair, overcard and FD failed to come in vs his overpair. Now down to $320

Looks unlikely I'll be able to hold on to any bankroll as I am total ****e.

New plan is fold to any and all raises without the nuts. Check fold anything but a made hand. Fold pre unless IP.

Hey Paul,

I have just bumped into your threat! You found an astonoshing title.
On the other hand, I know very well what it feels like to be BE. I would like to see your stats detailed, devil must hiding there somewhere and in tilting sessions. What if you failed your goal and would make at least $5000 by the end of the year? Would you be then a failure?

Take care.

Gotta start somewhere... and posting hands, reviewing sessions and cutting out your weak spot (zoom) is a good place to start.

Thanks. Yeah I'd have to call $5000 challenge failed but $5000 to rub on titties would soften the blow.

Thanks Mr Bubble. I'm trying. The zoom thing is just an action junkie degen thing. I tilt into it so always go into it looking to win money not to play hands correctly. I have considered leaving Stars just so I can't do it any more!

On the stats thing any special ones you would like to see?

I play 21/17 4.5% 3 bet, 85% fold to 3 bet. Steal 32% and fold to steal 85%. 3 bet Steal 6.5% Total AF 2.5

Cbet flop 57%, Turn 48% and river 47%. Fold to cbet flop 51%, turn 43%

WTSD 24% and WSD 59%

I think CO play is a leak. Its my lowest won excluding blinds. My 3 bet from there is only 2%. Fold to 3 bet as CO is 75% which may be too tight. My 3bet is also only 3% from the BTN and fold to 3bet is 80% so thats almost certainly a leak. So I'm too passive IP maybe preflop. Thanks for the prompt to look into this. Interesting stuff. Any thoughts on general shape I'd welcome as well.

Plan now is to move to 2 tabling to try and learn to get over my degen action junkie approach and give me time to properly study and review hands in play.

[] Don't play Zoom
[] Don't play more than 3 tables (one extra one to try and find good tables if don't like seat)
[] Don't click call without asking what can I beat that would raise here (baluga avoidance)

I'm not a 6max player but definitely looks a little on the tight side imo. It would be easy to say cbet more, 3bet more and defend your blinds more but that's way too general.

Are these the stats you use in your HUD? Seems more likely to be the reports tab.

Yeah thats broadly what I use in my HUD. There is a donk stat as well that I use against villains but I rarely donk so not worth having for my review. I also have Limp stats (i.e. call fold or raise) as find that useful vs some limpers.

I think the PFR is OK for 6 max but I'm pretty weak tight in response to 3bet and post flop probably. I don't know enough to know if thats really true or not. I've put these stats into the stats checkup thread as well as the CO/BTN stats were really interesting. Especially the 3 bet numbers. I expected them to be high but I mainly 3 bet vs steals from the blinds and call from CO/BTN to play a pot IP vs initial raiser. I'm sure this is a mistake so will look for more spots from BTN first vs MP and CO and see how that goes before I look at CO. I guess the aggression will probably trickle down to CO as my table image changes from extra 3bets though.

Ok cool. Yeah, VPIP and PFR are fine.

Something that may help you increase your post flop cbetting would be the breakeven mathematics. No idea if you know it or not? I bet 60% pot as standard and that needs to work 37.5% (0.6 bet /(1 pot +0.6 bet) of the time to breakeven. So if you see a player with a fold to cbet above 40% you have to make that bet and take that margin of profit, regardless of what your hand is.

If you wanted to be really good you can change the colours of your HUD stats to display the number in green for any player that has 40%+ fold to cbet to help bring it to your attention. Just make sure if you are betting a different % of the pot that you change the math to reflect that.

Bad start for my 1 tabling journey. Ran into a lot of stations again and had to check fold a lot with no pairs on the board. Whenever I had cards I got raised and I can never find any good reason why they would raise that I can beat. Biggest one today was this.

Pre I think is fine. Flop is fine with 2 pair OOP. Turn I bet too small I think but it does allow his Ax and heart draw hands to spaz. Call I think is OK as its a fold worse get snapped by better scenario. When he mashes the river I figure too value heavy range and fold. Am I being too weak BvB?

I think I call the river. There are not too many 2's in his range, easy for him to float bvb and try take away on the turn and then why would he raise with what would essentially be the best hand on the turn? 67 isn't going to raise. 2 hearts might.

You made it sound like he really bet strong on the river but it's a little over 60% pot. I'd be more scared of a better 2 pair here but you could see this from AQ and AJ imo. How about 54? his hand improved on the turn after all.

I think the real point/take-away here is if you choose to call on the turn, you have to do it knowing that you will have to call on this type of river card.

The other factor is his turn raise is bigger than 3x your bet - which if he had then made a pot bet or more on the river I'd say he's trying to get paid with the nuts. Not sure how much of this is in my head but I swear when people make plays like this and then make a 'standard river value bet size' it's because they are bluffing and just trying to look normal.

Too many factors pique my curiosity and I'd just be 'sigh, nice hand' if he showed a straight or better 2 pair.

---
Thinking a little longer about this, you have no history on the guy so you should probably just give him the benefit of the doubt, fold on the turn and move on to the next hand.

OK. I'm just a redline killing folding station these days. Never can get a hand to showdown. I'm going to fold to every raise without the absolute nuts for a while as I have no idea what to do if I call and its massacring my BR. I need to learn at some point but I'm so useless in these spots that I think its worth focussing elsewhere for a while until I have some confidence.

Like this for example. Bet to get value from weaker pairs, PP with a spade, high spades. When raise I fold as have no idea what I would do if I called and I can't raise here.

Stacked a horrendous fish. He was calling multiple streets with any pair even as low as 5th, open shoving AJo, 55, limp shoving just generally being a tard.

I missed some value from him here but he had so far never folded before the river and never called on the river so felt betting would only fold worse and I'd not like a reraise from him.

I'm doing my best. Its only because I'm above EV after a massive suck out. Although he did call a 30BB 4 bet OOP with KK and flopped a set vs my AA. I had pushed all in on the turn after Cbetting the flop and I rivered the Ace for a 4% save. Meant I'm hugely up on EV as was 240BB pot in the end but as soon as we had 60bb in the pot on the flop I'm never getting away from that with SPR of 1 and an unconnected K high board. So I feel like I played it correctly and don't feel bad about getting outplayed and sucking out.
