Poker back-story:
First discovered 2+2 around 4 years ago when I was 18 and finishing up high school. From then to now I’ve played on and off. For certain stretches I would play everyday and study, and for some periods I didn’t play at all. I’ve played a decent amount of hands online, I’d guess around 100,000+, but never beaten anything over a decent sample size. My time spent playing has been characterized by a lack of patience, jumping from cash to tourneys and from NLH to PLO. I’ve played probably 200 hours of live, some of it at 200NL and some at 300NL. Definitely a lifetime loser, probably around 2-3k.
At this point I haven’t played poker seriously in around a year. I started University in September, and am currently two classes over the summer, one university and one an online high school math. I work 24 hours a week in a call center / scheduling job. I’ve recently entertained the idea about getting back into live poker and stumbled on DGI’s post “On Turning Pro”

Going to attempt to roughly follow this guide. Seems like a disciplined approach to beating live poker, and that’s the main thing I was lacking in the past.
In the past month or so I’ve played about 2000 hands 4 tableing 2NL, and a bunch of 2NL Zoom as well. I play on a Mac so I was using the 30 day trial of pokertracker. Now that it’s ran out I haven’t played in 2 weeks or so. Going to install windows on my machine though and use holdem manager, which I have a license for. Should be up and playing within a couple days.
Going to shoot to play 2.5 hours of 4 tabling FR 2NL this week, may move up to 6 tables in the future. Going to look to spend 2H a week to start out reading poker books/videos, will start with The Mental Game of Poker and Poker Math that Matters. Also watching some DC videos, currently half way through Fullring Binder and going to finish that off this week.
Going to update this thread once a week to start off. I’m hoping to be playing live 200NL by September or October. Long term poker goal at this time would be to be able to travel the world supporting myself playing live poker and play 5 / 10 +. Also going to include some non-poker goals in this thread as well. Will update once a week . I tend to find that I make lofty goals and then don’t follow through with them, an idea to counter that is to put some money on the line. So, I’ll make a list of goals every week and if I don’t accomplish them in 7 days, so like Monday 7PM – Monday 7PM, I’ll make a video of myself burning a $100 bill, and post it online. I was originally thinking of donating it to charity or something, but feel like I could level myself into not completing the goals if it was going to a good cause.
Goals for this week, must be done by Monday May 19th at 18:00.
Ideally these will be split evenly through all 7 days, but not necessarily.

I’ll post poker graphs from 2nl next week once I get my bootcamp working, currently can’t access pokertracker. Probably will look to ramp up my time spent on poker related activities for the next week.
