Day 13 - 20 Tournaments today & cashed in 5

Profitable day but I left too much money sitting on the table, by correctable mistakes. Blew apart a couple different monster stacks by being over aggressive and also making a few terrible calls. When a bad run out comes for a well played hand, that doesn't bother me, that's poker. What bothers me, is when I make a mistake that I shouldn't have and it costs me a lot of chips. The mistakes are getting fewer but it is still frustrating. Just need to keep learning and growing.

Pretty sure I am going to be streaming the last 6 weeks or so of this challenge. Got a lot to learn before that can happen.

Global Bankroll $580.53

Big weekend ahead, 2 days left for hunting a Grizzly Trophy and opportunity abounds. One of these days soon, you are going to check this thread and the bankroll is going to be over $1000.

Be Happy

Here is a Sharkscope graph of the first 2 weeks

273 Tournaments
Av Stake: $6.45
ITM%: 25.3%
Total ROI: 47.9%

Now, I know I am not a poker crusher, I have a lot to work on. Playing this volume is new to me and I really like it. I feel like growth is happening daily as I play and study.

Week 3 and the last day of The Grizzly Games begins

Sunday was NOT a Funday

16 tournaments, 3 cashes, down on the day.

Rolled to play $22 tournaments then I played a couple $33 satty's to try and get into the Med & Hi Grizzly Main Events. I felt very guilty about violating the roll. That wont happen again, just for my peace of mind. I did get to play in the 100K Main but did not cash. I was thinking about satellite tournaments, I believe for the most part they are softer than regular tournaments. However, when you spend money on a satty, you have to cash in the satty and the target tournament to benefit from that initial investment. With the extra time investment and cashing twice, are they worth it? I was listening to this bald streamer that always wears a yellow jacket and he said you should never satty into something you are not rolled to play but use satty's to decrease variance. I think that is valuable advise and now part of my bankroll guidelines.

As for the rest of Sunday? Yuck. Grizzly Games are complete and no trophies. Played bad, ran bad, but still have more than the $23.23 this all started with.

Global Bankroll $415.67

I am expecting a great week this week. Just going to continue to play and study and should start planning and pricing airfare and hotel for Vegas.

Monday evening session seemed very relaxed without the Grizzly Games going on. Simple schedule and still got in 18 tournaments. 7 of those were sng's which is not the norm. I usually play one or two when starting sessions to keep me from one tabling.

I am going to be making some changes to my bankroll guidelines. Taking it from 20 buy-ins for each level to 25. My hope is, it slows down the swings a bit and still structured to build a roll.

Formula is simple, total buy-ins of current level + all previous levels + one buy-in at the next level + round it up to make it look pretty = move up to the next level.

Entry * # * total * Move Up $
.55 x 25 = $13.75 = $15.00
1.10 x 25 = $27.50 = $45.00
3.30 x 25 = $82.50 = $130.00
5.50 x 25 = $137.5 = $275.00
11.00 x 25 = $275 = $560.00
22.00 x 25 = $550 = $1120
33.00 x 25 = $835 = $2000
55.00 x 25 = $1375 = $3300
110.00 x 25 = $2750 = $6300 (Sunday $218 Counted in this level as 2 entries)
250.00 x 25 = $6250 = $12700 (This level begins live tournament roll)
400.00 x 25 = $10000 = $24000
1700.00 x 25 =$42,500 = $65000

Rebuys; Move down one level Example, rolled to play 5.50 tournaments, no 5.50 rebuys, have to play 3.30 rebuys.
No Hyper Turbos. Satellite only tournaments within roll, time permitting.

Global Bankroll $392.86

Rolled for $11 tourneys and $5.50 rebuys

Sleep, Pray, Study, Play, Evaluate, Repeat
(oh yeah, eat, shower, work, wife time & recreation in there somewhere too)

Wednesday

Played 10 SNG's between $3.30 and $11.00, 9max turbos came out -2.20
Played 10 MTT's, cashed 4 with 1 bink

My focus is MTT's however, will usually play a couple single table tournaments as a session begins. I do need to work on my STT game, that should help my MTT results too.

Global Bankroll $510.24

Not exactly sure what I am doing today. It is snowing, they say somewhere between 5" and 10" blowing and drifting snow within the next 24 hours. There is work that should get done or give myself a snow day and grind 20+ MTT's on Global today...

Good Morning All,

After my last post, I asked myself, "Self, how many tournaments can you play in the next week?" I relied, "I am not sure, let's pump up the volume"

Put in 156 tournaments in the last 6 days and bankroll had been bouncing between $200 and $400. I haven't seen the real big ups and downs. The daytime buy-ins on global are really low and they do not run many so it is a bit relaxed. Then, in the evenings, there are times when I have 6 to 8 tables open on my little 15" laptop. I have found with the higher volume the amount of mistakes I make increases. My ITM% was actually higher, but my strong deep runs were less. I have much to work on and improve. I actually think I am going to add a bunch of low buy-in SNG's to the daytime tournament MTT schedule and practice running 6+ tables and see how it goes.

Global Bankroll SC 272.81

I am craving some live tournament action. There is a an awesome HPT Mini Series in Toledo running next weekend. Going to set a goal. If I can get my bankroll over $750 then I can look for backing for next weekend. If not, will grind on Global instead.

Time to Grind, Have Fun Out There!

This has been nuts. Played 209 tournaments in the last 7 days. Graph was slowly going down, down, down. Was just under $100 and prepared to play only $3.30 tournaments and lower... Then I had a $500 bink last night!

Gave an honest look at what was going on yesterday morning. Like i mention in my last post, in my evening grind, at times I was playing 6 to 8 tables. Moved up to the top 15 in volume for scheduled tournaments on Global for the year. When it comes to having time to think about each hand, opponents ranges and such, that volume is not the most profitable option at this point. Where I am at with my ability, dialing down the number of tables while I study and grow is probably best. I did that yesterday and played less tournaments than normal, but was profitable.
