2019: turning things around 2019: turning things around

Hey there, happy (belated) new year. I'm starting this one a bit late but its still January so I think it can qualify as a new years PG&C.

Don't want to give too many details about myself/where I play etc. So let's just get right into it. My goals are:

Work out daily
Eat healthy and take vitamins
Grind at least 140 hours a month
Study consistently (no real pattern to this but I'll make sure to absorb as much poker-study as I can)
Consistently look for new ways to keep growing myself and develop habits that will make me a more solid/happier person

All these goals are pretty loose and ambiguous but I'm going to be honest with myself and won't cheat (e.g. 1 tabling while watching tv for 5 hours). The main key here is CONSISTENCY. I will do my best to remain consistent with these goals throughout 2019. I know there will be times where things will start getting a bit sporadic but whenever I sense that I'll do my best to whip myself back into a routine. If by the end of the year I can look back on 2019 and be satisfied with my effort then that's a win for me.

In terms of being healthier and working out, I would ideally like to put on some weight (maybe 20 pounds or so this year) but I'm more focused on just feeling healthy and having a short (30-45min) exercise routine per day.

I still don't know exactly what I'm going to be posting ITT but I just want to use it as a way to hold myself accountable. I'll try to update things every few days, or once a week at least. This isn't going to be the most interesting of PG&C's but if you still decide to follow and see me slipping then feel free to remind me to update.

Thanks for taking your time to read this and GL on your 2019 goals.

You're opening other threads and posting all willy-nilly so I'm going to assume this thread was made in a naive attempt to stem the down-swing you're experiencing.

How many times in the last 5 days have you worked out?
How long were the workouts?
What do you think "healthy eating" entails?
What vitamins do you think you'd need to supplement if you were exercising "healthy eating" habits?
How many hours have you put in since creating this thread?
Do you think that poker is the road to making you a healthier person?

If you legitimately don't know the answer to all of these questions, my advice would be to take on smaller chunks of self-improvement at a time. Good luck.

I'm guessing you got a bit triggered from the post I made in BBV? Did it hit close to home? I mean 13k posts since 2016, you obviously spend a lot of time around poker (or this forum at least), how come you're not a pro yet? All good man. I was just playing around its funny to see how easy it is to level some of you "seasoned" BBV regs.

That said I'm currently taking a lot of different vitamins. Also been taking this thing called zeolites last few months. And yea "eating healthy" is subjective and like I said these goals are ambiguous. Once again, as I said, I'm mainly making this thread to hold myself accountable.

Why are you assuming that I didn't follow through with any of my goals just after 5 days? Is this self-projection perhaps? I've worked out every day since the start of this thread, been eating healthy for a while (well healthy imo), took the last 2 days off poker but had reason to do so, will make up for it this week.

You obviously really don't care about this thread and just came here to try and troll or w.e it is you're going for, I'm pretty emotionally stable though so I won't let some amateur poker player trigger me. Nice try though bud. Re-read my BBV post

I was actually being serious. If you're eating healthy, you don't need vitamins. If you're not hitting your goals, you're not trying hard enough.

You can interpret it however you'd like, but be honest with yourself. Good luck.

edit: Can I borrow bout 350?

nice 6 minute-late edit there. Didn't realize that joke is still trendy. BBV regs never grow up.

So, tell me about these zeolites you're taking.

And "eating healthy" isn't subjective if you know what "eating healthy" is.

So spent the last 2 weeks studying a lot more than usual which keeps me motivated during downswings. Been doing a lot of pio work and talking theory, finally had some rungood this past week and up overall since start of this challenge. Things seem to be going in the right direction finally but don't wanna speak too soon. Been working out every other day or so and eating relatively good. I'm going to start playing tennis once a week with a friend to get in some cardio. Will update thread more regularly.
