Beers, barebacking, and banta
A few days ago I started writing an update in this thread - I started writing out an entire trip report for the night that my coach and now housemate arrived in Pattaya and what we got up to. I must have written nearly a thousand words and then was just like fk it and gave up because I'd only gotten through maybe 20% of all the stuff that happened on that one night, and there've been many nights like it since!
So I'm going to try to do a condensed update of a few different things in as few words as possible.
The Penthouse
Pics to come! This place is pretty ***** awesome and I'll let the pics (that I'll take once I get back home) do the talking.
15/10 WAS BARFINED, FINALLY
If anyone remembers the 15/10 girl I was frothing over a while back? Well me n coach decided to go out on the first night he arrives and long story short, he ends up barfining her. And then banging her noisily most nights for a good week straight.
On one hand I feel somewhat like a cuck, but mostly I'm glad one of the good guys finally got to experience this magnificent specimen!
There's also been an absurd amount of barebacking hookers going on in the Penthouse since we all moved in. We have a theory that if they have a cute face, it's unlikely they have aids so it should be fine. So far so good.
We have the official housewarming party coming up in probably ~11 days maybe? Still waiting on one more guy to arrive from Aus and then we're going to invite every hooker we know, every girl from Tinder, all the Russian cuties, put on unlimited piss, and see where the night takes us! Will do up a TR for that one for sure.
Poker
Has been somewhat slow - variance-wise I've definitely been running fairly poorly, not terrible but certainly under EV and bad situationally. I'm playing 4 tables atm and so the volume is slow. Also definitely still some growing pains - I'm learning a looot and spending on average 1.5-2 hours studying a day, which gives me a LOT to try to implement during actual sessions. But I feel I'm developing at an extremely fast pace and improving a lot despite the increase in spew on my behalf.
PokerKing Asia Issues - full disclosure
So I want to address this publically because it's definitely been a very frustrating time lately. PokerKing has banned a good chunk of players - and what I say banned, I mean frozen accounts and funds, as they're reportedly investigating a bot ring some agents brought into one of the unions.
Basically my agents have about 150 players, 4 of which are my players that are currently in limbo with funds frozen, and it's been this way for probably 2 weeks now. Every day we're wondering when it'll be over. None of our players have done anything wrong, but the communication from PK's side of things has been terrible, and there's been no reassurance that our players accounts/funds will be fine if they did nothing wrong.
I think they're just taking precautions and attempting to purge the unions of the malicious accounts and then in future they'll only ban/freeze individual accounts when an issue like this occurs.
I'm confident PK isn't going to bounce with the funds of over a hundred legit players with absolutely no evidence of cheating, but obviously you can never be too sure with sites like this. Hopefully I'll have more to report on this in the coming days.
Nick Petrangelo and John Andress are apparently heading up a security team for PK though so I guess it's cool to see such big names consulting with PK,

Study
As I mentioned above I've been working really hard off table every day. Basically each morning I will run 1-2 sims on Pio, then in between sessions I'll look at hands in FlopZilla, and then after I finish for the day I'll write up some "player tendency" stuff - which is basically a way of reviewing hands where I clarify exactly what should be in the forefront of my mind during a hand where I made a mistake. I.e. "I don't think villain will ever check flop with zero SDV on this board, so we should fold the turn to the dcbet" - just something like this that gets straight to the point, or something important that I overlooked during the hand.
Everything I do is logged in a "daily study workbook" on Google Drive. I've filled nearly 100 pages just from the past couple weeks worth of stuff - I find writing things down, whether that means pasting screenshots of Pio outputs, writing small reviews, doing these descriptions, and pasting in FlopZilla outputs is a really good way to avoid kind of "going through the motions" when it comes to study. Some days you might just really want to grind and cbf studying, so you might look to do the bare minimum possible, which will usually just be quickly glancing over hands in the replayer, but those study sessions are going to be basically worthless which is why I really make sure I force myself to take the time and log it all properly.
Will happily release the link to the drive doc if anyone's overly keen to see exactly what I've been up to on this front.
Gym/Fitness/Diet
I've made huuuuge progress on this front which I'm really really pleased with. Yesterday I deadlifted 170kg - before that my previous best lift was 155kgx2 which was about 2 weeks beforehand.
I'm really placing a huge focus on getting lots of protein in my diet and getting quality sleep. It doesn't help when you're woken up by the sounds of ***** at 5am from one of your roommates but the sleep stuff is definitely improving lately which I'm stoked about.
I've kind of gotten rid of the fasting aspect of everything. I realised now that keto OMAD was ***** ******ed since I was getting fkall protein, I was literally burning through muscle mass like no tomorrow.
So Rn I'm doing carbs before gym every day (cafe down the road does chicken fried rice for 50baht, so I get 2 of em), go home and run some Pio for an hour or so while my food digests, and then go kill the gym for a good couple hours. I find gym after smashing back a ton of carbs is obviously way better. My lifts are going up, I'm feeling stronger, looking better, etc.
I've also been eating about a kg of chicken everyday lately as I'm trying to stay under maintenance calories wise but want to stay super high protein, like 60% minimum. I've realised that a kg of chicken is like 300g of protein which is probably way too much, so I'm going to probably tone that down a bit.
=======================
So ya, sorry I've neglected this thread for so long, I've kind of lost interest in 2+2 a wee bit lately but hopefully I'll get some time to keep occasionally posting some fun stories from our time in the Penthouse.
