Meal Eating Frequency Adjustments?
So I'm getting leaner, but still have a bunch of fat to lose. Actually hit 85kg this morning on the scale (95kg at the start of this thread). I'm currently doing a 3 day split with keto OMAD in order to lose the fat. Chances are I'll probably keep going with that because it's definitely working but I'm wondering if I should possibly scrap the keto bs and just go uber high protein, almost carnivore type ****, and possibly do carbs before working out?
Here's what I'm thinking...
Carbs late at night (pad thai and fried rice innit) which will A) help me sleep but B) give me plenty of energy for hitting the gym early in the morning
Then having a super high protein meal afterwards, like just bulk chicken breast. So 2 meals a day and staying in caloric deficit. Fasting on off day.
I'm kinda at a point where I'm still getting awesome workouts in, but feel like all these fat macros can't be great. Maybe carbing up the night before will give me even better workouts and might lead to more muscle gains as well as the fat loss?
IDK, the reason I bring this up is because I've been looking at what Cole Robinson (Snake Diet founder) is doing, and he's fasting with the intention of gaining muscle. What he does is trains every other day (very different to what I'm doing, 3 day split), on his training days he has carbs beforehand, I forget exactly what he said he had but I know it included a whole orange... The idea is to still feel empty after this meal but still get some carbs in before training an hour or so later (obv body in a fasted state is super carb responsive). Then he'll train and afterwards he'll "consume his bodyweight in protein" by basically just eating an insane quantity of raw meat the nutcase. I think he said 1.6kg of raw meat post workout. Then on his off days, every other day, he just fasts. And when he needs to refeed, a big bowl of rice or whatever. I forget exactly how it looked. The point is there was a rhyme and reason to everything he was doing. It's quite intricate the meal frequency planning stuff when doing fasting and looking to gain muscle. The idea is that you are in a surpluss on training days but stay lean still during off days so bodyfat stays low. I'm not sure the best way to apply what he was doing to a 3 day split which I'm pretty uncompromising on!
