It's time to sit down to analyze, plan and visualize all the things that will happen in 2016.

There's no question 2016 will be a tremendous year for me in regards to personal growth, financial gain and overall happiness. Writing here will be good means for coming to new resolutions and tracking my results.

By the end of April I see myself;
- with atleast 150k hands played for the year
- moving limits up to 400NL
- increasing my betting units to 300
- having decent experience with trading stocks

By the end of the year I see myself;
- with atleast 450k hands played and 70,000€ in profits for the year
- moving out of my parents house (likely abroad)
- increasing my betting units to 500
- having learnt profitable stock trading
- happy with my surroundings and my physical being
- addicted to success, continuously pushed forward by exponential results

This thread will mostly be for my own purposes, but I want to keep this journey public for the possibility of future references if I want to start coaching others.

Went to sleep at 11PM yesterday and got up at 5AM this morning. Very unusual for me. For the past 12 months I've hit the bed at 5AM on average.

Right now I'm sitting here drinking my early morning coffee.. Thinking:

Months on pace so far, but I came up with something I would like to do for the rest of the 150k hands that were originally scheduled to be hit by the end of April.

12 to 12

what this means is that I'm setting a goal to play from midday to midnight everyday until I hit the 150k hands. This will likely allow me to hit the 150k hands by the end of February. Short (15-20 min) toilet/meal breaks will be allowed.

Why am I doing this:
- The 150k hand mark (very likely) represents a monetary milestone for me. After this it will be no question I can consistently average 8000€+ months.
- To build character - my biggest weakness has always been my inability to put in lots of hours. This has lead me to receiving average results, when I could have received great results and moved up in life a long time ago.

This will be one hell of a challenge for me, but I'm ready. 2016 will be a life changing and amazing year for me and it starts right here with this challenge, battling with my biggest weakness head on. If I can slay this one, I will be set to go..

Let's do this.

If anyone's interested, here's how I've been doing since December (80 hours and all the hands I currently have). Most of the sample is from HU ZOOM.

Last 2 days have been quite rough, I'm down around 8 buy-ins. I decided to already scratch the challenge mentioned in the previous post, which is fine aslong as I manage to hit the foundation goals mentioned in the #1 post.

There's something magical about these downswings.. I just battled out a 30BI downswing a month ago and came back a few days later with a strong 45BI run.. I'm definitely one of those guys whose level of play changes quite a bit according to the run I'm experiencing. During a downswing I start to question my plays more, which in itself is good, but this also leads to frustration, anger and ultimately fear when the cards keep playing against me for hours and hours on end.

Another thing.. Planetwin365 is making me question my sanity at the moment. I've played there for over a year and I'm losing, losing and losing there.. All the time. My head says there's not a chance they're rigging me, but each time I decide to start playing there again, I lose and lose.. Over and over. It honestly feels like they're robbing my money. I've never lost anywhere like I have there over such a big sample.

I know this run will turn around soon. I just need to keep in mind the bigger picture, focus and remain calm. Usually I handle variance by taking time off, but that needs to stop since my volume seriously has to increase this year. I'm not going to be playing for average results anymore.

40k hands this month is the minimum. Non-negotiable. I'm at 7512 right now.

This month has been one of the biggest wake up calls in a while. I'm losing a bit w/ rakeback after 12,209 hands. Betting has been going really bad too, I'm down around 2k€ this month which really hurts at this point. Trading was going good for a while, but I've came down to around breakeven in the last few days.

I would really want to get my bankroll up to XXk€. It would take the heat off of my back and allow me to bet, trade and play poker very comfortably for a living. That doesn't mean I'm not always looking to grow, but it would be the point where I can finally say "hey, now I'm self sufficient and I can keep rapidly growing my holdings even if I'm living by myself".

So.. This month so far feels like a huge kick in the groin. I keep repeating the same mistakes from the past. I've always been very talented at this game, but I always get down on these downswings and start taking time off, start losing money elsewhere and set myself several steps back. I seriously need to be HUMBLED by these events and start respecting money and time more than I currently do.

Now I've two options:

1) React like a loser, get depressed again, take some time off and set myself even further back.

2) React like a winner and start pounding the ****ing tables. Stop taking uncalculated risks.

I'll make a month update after next week. Cheers!

Interesting thread will follow with interest. Loving the McGregor quote, you think he will end Rafael in the first round?
Any books or material you would recommend for someone that wants to learn stock trading?

Hi mate and thanks for following.

About the quote, I think Conor has a tremendously interesting mind that many overlook because of how strongly he comes in interviews, conferences etc. Many merely take it as arrogance/confidence and being rude, but above the fact that he's promoting the fights and earning money like no one in the UFC has previously done (per fight), he has an amazing mindset (bulletproof as he calls it) that is definitely worth investigating and taking notes from. This should be "NO ****!" if you look at what he's done/doing, but it's not for most.

Conor can certainly win that match, but I'm most likely betting on RDA at the current odds. If RDA comes to the fight with a solid game-plan (like he did when he challenged against Pettis), he should rather easily win the match by rag dolling Conor around the cage. That being said, looking at Rafael's reactions in the press conference I'm not confident that he's going to stay level-headed until the night of the fight.

I'm currently tailing my brother who trades almost full-time and I personally don't have much knowledge about trading other than some of the basic indicators, nor do I have any books to recommend at this point unfortunately.

Thanks for subbing mate.

Not too optimistic about outing my SN at this point, but there aren't that many decent regs that play the HU pools up to 100. I'm a bit more inconsistent with my volume in the zoom games as I do play elsewhere too.

It feels like I've unlocked something that's been missing for the past 2 years.

About a week ago, after having experienced a bit of hard time with the downswing, I decided to make a commitment instead of falling back into my old ways and going to hibernation mode for anywhere from 7 to 14 days. The commitment was simple, play 2k hands for 100 days in a row. Right now Day 6 is in the books and I'm ahead of the pace and feeling fresh as a daisy. I believe from this point on, I will average 50-60k hands a month for the whole year.

I also just finished a +2700 hand grind to get PlatinumStar. BB/100 and graph definitely suffers from these 'mindlessly grinding 3-4 tables of Zoom days', but that shouldn't really be that important keeping in mind the end goal.

Here's a Zoom graph for the past month (50, 100 a bit of 200):

Spoiler:

I decided to drop the trading for now as it just didn't fit into the puzzle at this point. I'm doubling down on betting and poker.

Grind will continue tomorrow. 2k hands a day for the next 93 days, that's the promise to myself. Now I will go watch the latest episode of 'the Expanse' and then heading to bed. Onto the next update.
