No I didn't. Thank you for that post though as it helped me realise that I needed a break. So I took the last 4 or 5 days off and played golf/ate well/chilled out with friends/destressed from poker. Was great spending a few days not thinking about it whatsoever.

First day on the course was poor with +11 but my last 3 rounds were all 6 over par(6 is my handicap). So solid stuff although all those rounds included 2 double bogeys.Just a matter of concentrating for the full 4 hours as one mistake can be super costly for your score. This is directly correlated with poker, as it happens. One stupid mistake in a big pot can ruin you EV for the session.Studying mental side of poker is one of my top priorities now.Listening to Eliot Roe/reviewing some hands before I begin/getting in any form of exercise prior to the session is now a must for me.Implementing this should really help me get that winrate up to where it should be.

Came back to the tables today after my coaching session and thought I played very well.Super good on the Ev side but again just running under but whatever.A win is a win.I have a feeling October is going to be the best month of my life

Weekly numbers:

Feel like i'm playing much better and starting to feel more confident in my postflop game.Getting in plenty of gym sessions now which is great b/c i'm feeling very fresh when playing.Low volume for the week but i'm focusing on study and mental game more before I start grinding out a lot of hands.Next coaching session is tomorrow and I want to do some HUD work/explo plays.

Does anyone here know of a skype group/thread which deals with CREV analysis and funcionality?I am aware of the thread with scylla but just wondering if there are any others out there? Also has anyone purchased piolsolver(gto solver) and how have you found it helpful/tough to use or any other comments on it?

Ok any shortstack players have any feedback on this:

6 max shortstack cash game with varying stack sizes.

i min r utg w 20bb bb reg defends with 11bb ,there are other >20bb stacks on table so we can't remove any
22-66 from our range that we may otherwise shove.

flop 4.5bb : KcQh3s check check.
Turn 4.5bb : 8c check check
River 4.5bb: Jh bb checks.

We can credibly rep qj ,910s(depending on table), a10, 88, jj in our range. As an explo play, could we profitably shove 2x pot here with J10,A9s,22-TT because this board still hits villains defending range and we don't have great equity vs that range?Obv the hands with 9's and 10's with blockers are a little better as he will prob play crai river with 910. Puts villain in a difficult situation with kx,qx,jx,8x and I find most regs overfold to overbets anyways.

The only problem I have is that most of the 1pair hands villain will have will include 9's and 10's and some regs think "hey I got a blocker lets call."

We do have a range advantage on this board so I think a small c-bet with my entire range is profitable but I just wanted a discussion

Good luck with the goal....getting from a 6 to a 2 handicap isn't going to happen with lessons, you already hit the ball well enough. You need to spend most your practice time from 100 yards and in, insane amount of wedge practice from 70-100 and insane amount of practice around the greens hitting every shot possible over and over. Also playing and learning how to get the ball in the hole, but mainly just become attached to your wedges around the green and you will get down to a 2 100%. Beating balls at the range is not going to help as much as it seems
(I used to be a golf professional not just randomly tossing ideas out)

Please update golf progress in thread along with pokes

Hey man that's awesome!!Literally my dream job would be to be a european/us tour golfer.Have to agree with you there. We take more than half our shots in a round of golf from inside 100 yards but most amateurs spend less than 20% of the time practicing it.Just bought 2 new vokeys so will be doing some work with them Gonna be playing thursday and friday so will let you know how it went.Gl at the tables

Hey dude thanks for the nice comment. Am those numbers include a fair amount of heads up and 3 handed play so don't really reflect my overall 6 max vpip/pfr/3b numbers. If you want to be more laggy I think you have to work super hard on improving your postflop game because you will find yourself in a lot more difficult situations than if you always get to the flop with a narrow range of hands.Number one tip is to become a beast at heads up poker I'm assuming you are talking about 100bb cash...

Youre correct. And thanks for responding. Where you from?

Guess my question was kinda dumb, im actually normally a nl100-200 reg and been expanding my game ALOT recently. So guess i shouldve asked a more advanced question. Hehe.

If you are a 100-200NL reg @100bb you're postflop game will be infinitely better than mine I think. I'm just a shortstack fish :P GL at the tables mate

Absolute LOL volume this week so far but have lots of other stuff to do.

Got out on the golf course yesterday but had to come off after 9 holes. Recurring shoulder problem from when I was a gym addict :/ Will have to take a break for a while I think. Have the rugby world cup and euro 2016 qualifiers to look forward to this weekend should be some great games!

SB is a fish. BTN is an aggressive reg who is sticky and likes to fight for pots. On this turn I want to maximize my fold equity but will also have good barrel cards on the river vs the fish if called. I can pretty much discount all flushes from the villain's range b/c I think he will c-bet 100% of those.Jam 2x pot on the river is good here I think vs sticky opponents. I don't any pairs or sets.Must have a crazy image for him to call with a J and a blocker :/

So had an interesting week. Pokerwise volume was very low but played well and made some $$$.One of my friends who came home from New Zealand a few weeks ago had his birthday over the weekend so we went out and got destroyed drunk. Went totally overboard and obviously hit the jager and red bull too hard because I started hyperventilating and had to be taken to hospital yesterday evening.Doctor said I was just having a panic attack but it was scary as f*%k because I thought i was having a heart attack. She gave me quite a lot of valium to settle me down which seems to have done the trick. It's a real wake up call for me.My brother gave up drinking 2.5 years ago when the same panic attacks used to effect him the day after he would go on a heavy drinking session.I guess i'm going to have to do the same if these become a regular occurence.I'm supposed to be going to Amsterdam next tuesday but i'm half afraid to go now ha. I think less drinking and more chilling while i'm there is probably best

Had a great time in Amsterdam albeit still feeling unhealthy. This led to absolute lol volume for the month but results were good so happy with that. This month i'm going to set some realistic, achieveable goals for myself:

[ ] 35k hands minimum (I will have real life stuff to do again this month)
[ ] 20 workouts (I will include gym or a round of golf as 1 workout)
[ ] Drink no more than 2 nights this month( and on those nights NO binge drinking)
[ ] No drug use of any kind.
[ ] Lose bodyfat and gain muscle(lol easy without specifics but w/e it's a start)
[ ] Win a strokeplay event at my home course.

Getting healthy mentally is going to be my number one priority as I have been struggling a bit recently.I used to frequent the gym at least 25 days a month and went out maybe 5 days a month. For the whole of 2015 the opposite is almost true.Time to get back in the gym and get back down to around 9% body fat.I'm currently at about 16% and that has been put on over the past 2 years while still being around the same weight(lost a lot of muscle). There's no better feeling than knocking the s&^t out of a boxing bag after a losing session and for whatever reason I have forgotten that this year, instead turning to alcohol and all the other stupid @ss sh&t. Believe me if anyone is reading this drugs/alcohol is not a good escape, it will just f^%k with your head. It's just an excuse to be WEAK instead of manning up and getting on with it like everyone else. There's no one around to give me that kick in the @ss so I finally figured it out for myself.
