hey nice results

you're obviously crushing the stake you play but cant seem to bink any tournies. im kinda in the same spot and can't seem to bink any tournies in relatively soft fields and its pretty tilting. do you have any plans to change this or do you think the variance/small sample size are a big factor and will eventually change?

I almost always play in time raked games. It varies from casino to casino and usually you pay more to play bigger stakes. I am not keeping track of rake payed sorry.

I've played 49 tournaments this year and only plan to play a few more. Ytd I'm -1831 in them after 90k buyins. It is what it is, my expectation in tournaments is only a small % of my overall expectation for the year and if I end up losing in them nbd. It just turned out that I was up in them so I ended up firing a lot. If I was down I would've been skipping a lot of stuff instead. If I thought I wasn't beating the tournaments I'm playing now I'd sit out or dedicate some time to getting better.

What stakes do you think you could beat on stars?

If you're talking about 6max I have no earthly idea, I've never played online cash as my main game. I'll cover this eventually but I sort of attempted it once and failed miserably playing too big and tilting a long time ago. If I was going to try it now I'd put in hands at .50/1.00 and start getting coaching from someone from the start.

If you're talking about mtts I would stick with $50 games and below except for bigs, hots and whatever else red tournaments PKO, Sunday Million etc. I would just reg all those regardless of buyin, except for the super Tuesday the Thursday thrill Sunday 500 and Sunday 1K

If everyone had your degree of humility in terms of what you said about 100NL and still seeking coaching

Do you think 5bb/hour is an achievable winrate for good regs at 2/5?

Yeah no chance I would just hop in big games I haven't played before and risk getting butchered trying to fig things out. Paying someone for a couple hours of their time every week would be a no brainer. Coaching can be v good value.

Absolutely. Depending on the games I'm sure much bigger winrates are achievable than $25.

Here is my 1/2, 1/3 and 2/5 results for the last few years. Small sample but still.

180 hours is a pretty normal work load for most people. just over 40 hour weeks.

Yeah but for a live poker player that's pretty high.

Not often. I guess sometimes after a weekend of long hours I don't have it in me to play on a Sun or Mon if I got crushed and played a ton.

I've played a lot the last couple of months. There's been action and I didn't get pummeled so I've been motivated to play.

Yeah most people are prob sub 40 hours/week. I can only think of a few guys who really grind a lot consistently.
