Yeah, that sounds a lot like my Day 2. I had some really bad draws, and some really bad chip movements from my right to my left, and any time a pre flop hand got action it got cracked post flop. QQ < AQ, QQ < 55 (I folded, they showed a set), TT < QJ (checked down multi-way on AJx), AK < AQ.
That's why I play so few tournaments - they're fun, but when you not only need to run good, you need to do it on the right day at the right time, a lot has to go well for you beyond your skill.
