From the man who brought u DeebSpellCheck and the dead backer thread comes a modest 2014 goals thread

I've been playing poker professionally for a couple years now.. before that I always played on the side for a bit of extra income. I started playing in 2003/2004, not sure which, and I was horrible but my god was it easy to make money. I like thinking that's why I have such a lazy approach to the game but it's pretty important that I change it or I'll have to start looking for a real job soon.

My first year doing only poker I was "helping" Americans get their money off Merge and making a decent amount of money doing it. That turned into getting a small stable going on merge and eventually other sites. At the start, staking was going really well because most of it was on a soft site in small fields and we experienced very little variance. Since then the staking has gotten slowly but steadily worse with tougher games, more horses etc. and I definitely over extended myself so sold and dropped a few. Now I've only got 2 left and feel ok about it.

Anyway, playing poker for myself the past year was pretty horrible despite having my 2 biggest scores ever. I realized I`ve always had something else going bringing money in and I have never really taken poker as seriously as I should. The main reason is I`m super lazy, always have been, and just don`t play enough. It`s a joke too, cause all I really do is sit around staring at my computer. I got a puppy this past year and that actually did make it hard to grind sometimes but it`s not really an excuse this year because I can take him out for a run before starting and then run him out on a couple other breaks later in the day. I've also had a gf the past couple years which was a big change and we are getting married in November. This will most likely be the excuse I use if I fail.

With Skrill pulling out of Canada I`m only going to be playing on stars/ftp until I figure out a good alternative. I think I should be able to play 200 games a week, that probably seems really low to some of you but I'd be pretty happy averaging out around 200.. so that's gonna be goal #1

goal #2 tag a ****load of hands especially the bad ones and then post them here to embarrass myself in hopes of playing better and so that I can't forget them. I'll also post my graphs after each month here for the same reason. I'd appreciate if some of you following the thread (if anyone does) calling me names and things if I start to get lazy or if u see me play a hand badly, go ahead and post it here and call me an idiot, that would be awesome.

goal #3 do 5 pushups every synch break for 1st month and 50 crunches/day on top of walking the dog because I'm starting to get fat. If I can make it through January doing that then I'd like to increase the # per break to 10 in February and so on throughout the year.

goal #4 put zero dollars on any sportsbetting site (this will be pretty easy)

goal #5 troll ppl less on 2p2 but when I decide to do it really get em good

Most important goal by far tho is the volume, I'm not going to worry about setting a goal for profits, I just want to play my best and play at least 10k games on the year.

gamboneee I was quite pleased with the # of posts and amount of anger that the dead backer thread brought, it surpassed my expectations. I would give it a 7.5/10

dont sell yourself short, dead backer thread was AT LEAST a 9/10

1st day of the year in the books.. did all my pushups, played 41 tourneys and lost less than 1k. not bad i guess

had no history with the guy and just clicked some buttons post. I'd just gotten done closing out the 50fo and I had raised dry flops for value repping zeros with a lot of success in that hu so my brain decided it was a good time to do that here as well. But it doesnt work with stacks really, no history and its just dumb.. i should prob just cbet and go from there

somehow won another tourney today.. the 54ko on stars for 2800.. cashed a few others and now 3tbling, one is a ft of a $75 6max on ftp where just had AK<KK so down to 15bbs

only played like 22 tourneys today tho, I always feel like stopping around 2pm and reging the big55 just seems like torture.. doin all my pushups tho !

went ahead and won that 6max tourney too for 2100.. 1tbling the $11 superstack 4/8

edit: alright got 7th in last one.. ran absurdly well today.. made 3 fts and won 2 of em for 4.4k profit

Today was alright, I built in everything and cashed like half my Stars tourneys maybe... started day getting 10th in hot 33, then had 80k in big 109 before we were itm and got coolered a couple times to not finish top 80. Had cl in a 5 hyper 6max with 11 ppl left running over my tbl, lost cnxn, came back to be middle of the pack and at other tbl, missed that ft too.. got sorta deep in b55 but was short the whole time and then ft'd the 3r and gotfkd to finish 7th

still made money on the day, played over 40 tourneys and did all my pushups

shouldnt really complain, still running pretty great overall. Looking fwd to ft'ing a hot or big tho

A bit disappointed that we won't get a pic of your future wife, but oh well.
