Tyty. We'll see about Parx. I have a friend coming to town to play some FW soon so I have to see what his plans are before I commit to anything.

Let me know if you want to grab lunch or dinner on Sunday! (And heck probably Monday. I'm just there every day lol)

How far from Foxwoods do you live and how did you find your place? Price range of apartment? Do you ever sleep at Foxwoods or do you always go home?

I live 20 minutes from Foxwoods. In December I looked some places up on google and craigslist and this one seemed to fit the bill, especially given its proximity to Foxwoods, Boston, and my home town. I pay $780 a month for rent (+$100ish utilities / internet), roommate pays the other half. It's a pretty sweet deal for the price, definitely a nicer apartment than I expected to live in this year.

And nope, never slept at Foxwoods! I haven't even been outside of Rainmaker — I'm just a degenerate who likes to sleep in his own bed.

Just some friendly advice from someone who has followed many PG&C's for quite some time...the biggest killer of these threads is giving out too much personal info.

Not only does it handcuff you with strat / hh's, but it can also be dangerous.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not too worried about the latter, but I am a little worried about the former. Still, I should be okay (:

I think the EV I gain by having this thread outweighs the EV I lose when some % of the time someone I play against a lot reads this thread and realizes that I'll occasionally 3-bet light (which everyone pretty much knows about me anyway).

February 27

2/5

Hours: 0.58
Profit: $553

5/10

Hours: 2.03
Profit: $4,089

Today the game was okay but then it got pretty bad — 8 regs (7 solid) and 2 fish who aren't even really fish. We had mandatory straddles so it was pretty much a 10/20 session which is cool. But the wait list consisted of like 6 more pretty decent regs so I just left. I could play 2/5, but I figured I'd just come home, make some chili, and rest up for the weekend.

Hopefully the game is better tomorrow! I'll be playing all day regardless. It's the last day of the month; I don't look at my profit for the month until the end of the month but I do know I'm at 139.5 hours as of today, hopefully I can reach 150 which wouldn't be too bad considering all the snow days, sick days, and bad game todays I've had this month.

Bout tree fiddyyyyyy. Donked off like a buy-in in one spot, but don't think it was totally bad. Whatever. Game was pretty decent near the end but I wanted to come home and get some rest.

Done with the month! I'll post stats and graphs and crap tomorrow morning (:

February

It was definitely an interesting month. I had my biggest downswing ever — both in terms of dollars and big blinds — and my biggest upswing ever. The month was only 28 days and there were a few snow days, plus I was sick for about 5 days in the middle so I'm not too upset that I only got in 150 hours. I ran pretty horribly at 5/10 to start but pretty hot to end and I'm guessing it all evened out (thanks, universe!). Ran pretty atrociously at 2/5 and that isn't even close to evening out — I think I seriously was like 0 for 5 on pots where I got it in with over 80% equity for over $1k. At least I'm using up all the run bad there =P

I spent $1,906 on living expenses this month, which is pretty good. Rent, utilities, internet, and gas for car are around $1,200 a month so only spending $700 on other stuff (food, accessories) isn't too bad.

In terms of play, I made a few preventable mistakes in the beginning of the month. As of late I have played better and with more discipline. Hopefully that continues for a good while! Healthy eating, meditating, and daily exercise are also helping my mindset, my game, and my general life a ton so I'll keep that up too!

Nah. There are definitely a few guys who are very good and have run hot so far this year and are probably up more than me. I'd guess I'm amongst the top though, and I also could be overestimating how much some other guys make.

5/10

Hours: 10.20
Profit: -$1,873

Good day; played really well and focused well when in hands. Ate healthy and exercised a bunch yesterday too.

More today! Hopefully the snow doesn't ruin things too much. As a kid I loved winter but lately I've been ****ing hating winter. Snow is a hassle and the darkness and cold is so soul crushing — especially for someone like me whose favorite hobbies almost all require 60 degree weather. If I continue doing this for a whole year I will definitely be spending Jan-March 2015 in a much warmer part of the world. For now, I'm just going to keep bustling along until spring comes.

Yeah! I was literally check/jamming the turn for 2k only to get snap called by the nuts to lose a 6k pot as soon as the room erupted haha. I was pretty surprised how much commotion there was and how long it lingered for! There was like 40 people around the table for a good half hour and the table didn't play another hand for the rest of the night. I guess lots of people think about money differently than I do.

Pretty psyched it hit; apparently there were a TON of 2/5 grinders at the table when it hit so hopefully they'll all come punt at 5/10. If anything else, sick degens won't choose 2/5 over 5/10 for a while because the jackpot will be too low.

I was cashing out at the cage at the same time as the main winner (guy who had quad tens and lost, won 255k or whatever) was cashing out his check. His backer was with him and I overheard them asking about how they could get two separate checks so they could split it 50/50 =/. Sorta sucks for the kid to have to split half, but whatever. Just another reason why getting staked is the dumbest thing someone can do as a poker player.

haha awesome thoughts about the implications of the bad beat being hit, sounds pretty spot on. There are so few good 2/5 grinders at FW its ridiculous. Add me to camp of staking being laughable and bad for the games. Our convo about MDLive was pretty eye opening...

Pretty sure one of the bad beat guys got drunk and took a shot at 5/10 last night!

I played a lot of different games at a lot of different times. Mostly midstake SNGs/MTTs and SSNL near the end. A large majority of my lifetime online play was tournament poker. I'm still pretty new at deepstack cEV play so I'm trying my best every day not to suck at it!

I hear there is a $2,700 tournament coming up at Foxwoods this month that gets a very soft field. I'm pretty skeptical about live tournaments and at the moment believe they are extremely -EG, but it's definitely tempting to sell half at big markup and just play it!

Played well yesterday, however it was a pretty boring day — slow table and I was really card dead for the middle 7 hours.

Taking today off to do some things (clean, grocery shop, laundry, call some people and places, catch up on some TV shows, relax). I'll be back at it tomorrow.
