Is getting SNE more of a personal "Can I do it?" goal, or are you motivated by the rakeback? Couldn't you make much more money spreading your action over multiple sites and focusing on finding soft games rather than worrying about fpps? Don't mean to sound douschy, just an honest thought. Good luck with all of your goals this year.

I think it more a case of it shouldn't be to hard playing his normal games so if he is close come end if year he will push for it. 12 tabling 1k+ with 500zoom he will easy get close without trying

Yeah it's def a personal thing - I know I'll be able to get it, just a matter of in what time frame. It's just something new to me, never grinded hard on stars before. Not motivated by the rakeback, more the 7 stars by my name! Agree I could make more money grinding easier tables with spots etc - will probably grind ongame at some point soon, just having a break from it atm.

2013 VPP update: 41,771

2013 Profit update: $8,108

It's pretty sick to think I am sitting here thinking that $8,108 in 4 1/2 days isn't that good... Not sure why I'm thinking that when outside the poker world it's bordering amazing.

It's probably something to do with the fact that I've played 50,230 hands already this year... And normally I win at a rate of more than $1/hand so kind of expected a profit figure nearer the $50k mark rather than the $8k mark. I do think I've ran bad, especially in the first 3 days of the year where I lost 32 buyins at 5/10... (thankfully ran a bit better at all the other stakes). Also I normally only ever played 12 tables maximum on ongame, but on stars I've been doing 18 with some zoom thrown in there too, which would obv affect my play. Plus stars regs > ongame one's!

do you mind saying how you divide up playing/studying time?
Do you study more or less than when you were at lower stakes?

Playing is a 100/0 ratio with studying. I've never really studied, read a book briefly just to see what it said but then put it down as found reading it too boring. Learn by playing the game.

GL op. You said u don't use hud. How on earth do u keep track of things playing 1000 hands/hour+? Id get so lost. Especially when u mentioned u play zoom as well.

I ve been watching a little of the 10/20+ games lately and the line ups are just redic. Most of the time there are the top 6 regs playing each other out. How come you choose to play in these tables vs the softer euro sites where you made good money last year? Is it the rakeback with sne that will make up for it for the lost $ made or just playing with these players will make you a better player and so more $ over time?

Thanks! I have no clue tbh. I know roughly the stats of the regs preflop and a few of the key post flop one's, but the rest of the time I just play ranges and go with my instinct.

It's probably neither tbh with you. And you may be thinking why I am I doing it then? I really don't know. I think I could make more money playing softer sites too, but there's something about pokerstars and the whole supernova elite thing that I've grown to love. I like both the challenge and also simply playing vs 5 good players, I find it a lot more of an accomplishment when I book a good session vs them than when I do chasing fish. Financially, it's probably not the best decision, but idk... I guess I could finish SNE by May and then go back to ongame etc after that.

I think I've played some hands pretty well in 2013, and some absolutely terrible...

Here are some that stick out in my mind...

This one is vs gregy the ME champion... Not sure why I chose to bluff vs a guy who's just won $9m this summer, and not only that, but when his hand is so face up he was always going to call. Pretty dumb of me:

This one is against a reg who actually puts me in a lot of tough spots. Some of the time he's great to have at the table (when he's missing and you flop the nuts), some of the time he's terrible, when he binks the nuts... Idk how I can fold the turn, I guess the river I probably should, but his range is literally any two cards every hand...

A hand where I thought I'd go for some value by minraising the river vs all his TT-QQ range which is what it looks like to me... Then I thought some other stuff which probably wasn't the best thing to do resulting in a spewy call:
