Hello everyone,

I started this journey like 1 month ago and would like to have my blog where I can track progress and post other stuff along the way. So yes, started with $20 and right now playing NL10.

Poker experience

Playing poker 5-6 years total, mostly micro / low MTTs where I had some success but get tired of variance and huge fields and decided to try cash game. Do not have much experience in this format as I am not used to play deep stack all the time but willing to put in study and grind, so we will see.. The plan is to go on my own until NL25 or 50 and then will probably look for some coaching.

I do have tilt issues and mental game isn't the best, thats something i am aware of and already started with "mental game of poker book ", hope I will manage to improve. This gonna be my last shot at poker and I'll make sure to give it my best.

BR management

I do have some but would like to have some input from you guys, would love to take aggressive shots and will go with this:

Bankroll now: ~$400 and NL 10 - down at $150

$500 - NL 25 - down at $300

$1k - NL 50 - down at $750

$2k - NL 100 - down at $1.5k

Other goals

volume - will try to have around 50k hands / month but isn't a must because I will at least try to stop if start tilting

study - mostly videos and gto tools, right now playing vs gto bots as a warm up for like 20 min and review hands after the session ( now will post some hands here as well ).

gym workouts at least 3x/week - pretty much disciplined here and do it regularly but sometimes after bad poker session I do not have motivation and skip. Maybe should do it before the session.

update this blog at least once per week

results

NL5

NL10 so far

cheers,

Thanks a lot slyless, yes I like to take shots and if went wrong I will still have 30 buy ins for lower limit, think its fine.

Update:

Roll: $530 + RB $25 which means NL25 from tomorrow

NL10 graph

Still not so happy with volume and hours but it will get better over the time.

The gym goal is completed, taking some rest for the weekend but its almost over, will enjoy some pool time today and back to work tomorrow

Hey there. Nice trying to stay accountable by writing this. You said this is your last shot at poker, but I'm not sure - is this the first time you try cash games or did I misunderstand?

Also, in the hands you posted you didn't include positions, and that's quite important if you want good feedback. Stats could be useful too if you have any. Another thing I advise is if you want to get better, rather than just posting hands, try explaining your thought process so we can see where you go wrong. You likely won't learn much if you just wait for people to tell you how to play certain hands. It's also a good exercise to form a solid thought process

good luck. It looks like you have a good plan to fit in study and for bankroll management, which should set you up to succeed.

Hey, thanks for your comment, not the first time but I do have very little experience in cash, now I am trying to study and get better.. As for the hands, I do not expect someone to teach me how to play the hand, just interested how others would play but yeah agree with you, it was just screenshot from H2N, will try to post them in better way and to share my thinking process as well.

small update

Poker going bad, started with pretty bad run at new limit, fish hit everything vs me, running into monsters all the time but yeah..I can't do anything about that and just trying to play my best and do not tilt. After 8k hands I am 3-4 buy ins down and will still stay at NL25.

After yesterdays workout my legs are also in red

see you soon with detailed update about poker

weekly update

As I said in the last post, started bad and nothing changed in the last couple of days, maybe just even worse. I just dont know whats happening, I am playing versus very bad players and they crushing me.. There are a lot of limpers, short stack guys, 55/5 players..i just cant beat them. So yeah, running bad playing even worse and the graph shows all, had some sessions with tilt but really not much so I can't say its about tilt, probably I am just trash.

NL25 graph

BR: $433 + ~$130 RB - I will not going back to NL10 no matter what, if I can't beat such players I'd rather stop playing.

I still do study with GTO tools but old habbit is here again and I skipped Friday workout, was like I will do it tomorrow but yeah..finally did it this morning and hurt my back along the way. The plan was to play today but its really painful and do not feel comfortable while sitting, some rest and off poker time will be great anyway.

see you soon guys

looks like you got some potential. I dont know much about the 10nl pool but the redline is solid. not going straight down

thanks mate, unfortunately it was just variance as at nl25 everything goes straight down I think there isnt much difference between nl5 - nl25 but variance can be brutal so even losing fish can have great looking graph over small sample.

update

Tried to put in volume and played almost 10k hands in the last 2 days which is the most I have played so far in 2 sessions, probably too much and I am feeling burned.. Results are **** and thats the reason for long sessions i guess, if I was 10 buy ins up i would quit right away.. :/

Br: ~$300

btw, from the start at nl25 i am pretty sure that I didn't have winning session, no single one, not sure how i didn't busted so far but yeah, br is low enough and will go forward with 4 tables.

Didn't do any workout for the last few days, still feel some pain in my back but I will try to do one tomorrow.

A few hands:

1. Standard pre flop sqz, i do not flat BTN and think KQss is to strong to fold. Didn't expect them all to call but this is what i'm looking at most of the time, they calling. There can be a bunch of small pockets suited connectors and some broadways as well. Flop is pretty good for my range and in such multiway pots in general I go with small size. Would be interesting how I'd play this hand if some of them lead the flop, which is very common there. MP calls and turn didn't change anything so push OTT is the only reasonable play as i can easily have AK,AQ i would push with, I do not think he's calling 99/TT preflop but sometimes probably. Such hands put me in big troubles, not because of the results here but people play like they do not care about rake, sometimes i think most of them do not even know for rake.

2. standard iso pre, this is just to show what players you will meet at nl25

3. BTN vs blinds - I do not have flatting range from sb and now sure what it looks like, prob pocket pairs like 22-66 maybe some broadways but I saw that people do it with random stuff like random Kx,Ax..even of suit. Pre flop and flop standard imo, i just do have massive range advantage. Over bet OTT i am not sure, but its prob ok as I can have 2 pairs, sets, Axss..he snap called and on the river i think bluff makes no sense, hes not folding anything.

4. Standard flip these days esp vs short stack

5. BTN vs BB - pre flop standard vs sizing? I would call vs bigger size at some frequency as well. Flop: I think he can't range bet such board and most of the time they do it with over pairs to induce raise, which he confirms with raise, they prob do not 3b 55-77 and would not play set like that, anyway easy call with OESD. yes i take down some pots, not much but better than nothing

6. Tilt.. vs the same guy from 1st KQss hand, yes its always flush and yeah such guys crushing me.

cheers,

hey there, i am planning to go there in February next year

unfortunately, this will probably be the last update of this blog. BR is down to ~$200 but i really do not have any motivation to move down and build it again instead i'll stop here.

Tried to play 50k hands at NL25 but i was off for some beach time last couple of days and just played today, anyway i have big enough sample and its clear that i am massive loser even with rakeback and other promotions. Posting this because i do not like when someone just disappear, tried my best, didn't work and i think its nothing to be ashamed. I would feel bad if i didn't try, and now i can check this blog if i ever get idea to play again..

NL25 graph

take care guys
