Back to poker after many years away. Started a blog here a couple a months ago when i was just back playing poker, and started out with 6 max since i understood thats where most people play nowdays.

But kind of quickly i realised that i´m still a better fullring player so after about 30 000 hands and just slightly winning i decided to go back to fullring NL. I´m to big of a nit to be a good 6 max player, i think. But i will get there, someday.

So thats where i am now, want to build my bankroll from $20 playing fullring NL Holdem and hope to have climbed at least a couple of stakes before 2022 has ended. Not going to put that much of resultorientented goals but just trying to improve my game and get better, and sure it will show in my results.

I have always been pretty conservative with my bankroll and back in the days when i was playing more, it made me not climb high enough. So i will go with a more agressive bankroll plan this time. I might reevaluate later when i have climbed up a bit.

I also need to get better at analysing my opponents and use the pokertracker stats that i get on my opponents, so i will start out just with 1-tabling so i keep focus on every decision and learn the game in a proper way again.

Bankroll: $20

First goal: Get to $50 1-tabling $2NL Fullring so i can move up to $5NL Fullring. I will record everything with Pokertracker and post here daily with stats, graphs and hands for analysis.

Wish me luck =)

Uploading some hands while playing

First hand, 3betting CO from BU. Villain runs 25/6 for 84 hands, openraises 17% from CO so i think its kinda standard 3bet here by me. Villain folds 0% to 3bets so far.

Flop is terrible with 3clubs and against 2 villains here i think its best to just give up direct? I sometimes get a bit frustrated by the small turn bets from many players when i check flops , but feel it most be the right play here.

Anothers 3bet spot from button against HJ raiser and CO caller. The HJ raises opens 33% from HJ so i am ahead of his range here most of the time here and in a very small sample size he´s folding 0% vs 3bets.

Good flop with TPGK and flushdraw, is my flop sizing OK here or should i go bigger/smaller?

AsTs hand: x/f flop. You have to play way more careful multiway, as the combined range strength you´re fighting is stronger. Monotone flops you don´t want to mess around too much (HU when IP, exploitatively, range cbetting monotone works well imo).

KhQh: 3bet squeeze bigger. Flop 1/3 is fine imo.

About redline, worry if your long term lossrate is worse than -10 bb/100. At 2 and 5nl it won´t matter (that) much, but higher it will be the difference at 10nl++

Pool in general is passive, 2nl has the biggest concentration of really bad fish, so you might start checking how is your thin value betting game. This will both help your redline (aggressive lines in general help it), and overall winrate. And as a bonus, you´ll become better with time on ranging people.

Some redline has to do with bluffing obv, but it´s not the only reason. Smart aggressiveness is the key. Start with baby steps tho, like the thin vbet game, is my advice

GL buddy, def subscribing, goos to see another fullringer here.

Whats your advice on 3bet squeeze sizing, in this spot to like 13BB instead of 9?

Yeah i think i need to develope my thin value betting game, seems like i lose a bit of value especially in spots when i am i position and bet two streets with TP medium/bad kicker and check it back on the river instead of betting it a third time. Maybe keep on betting small even on river in "marginal" spots. Have to read up on this a bit.

A quick session before work, and i ran pretty bad. 81 hands played and -$0.81 for the session.

The biggest pots (losing and winning)

This pot i think i play it well but its just a setup. The thing i get most irritated about, is that it shows negative ev in PT when he actually have 1 out before the river.

The second one is against a maniac fish that have called down three streets of potbets with just two overs against another player. Against a more solid player i think this is a river fold, but when i had these reads on him i think its fine to call his river checkraise but most of the time i think villains will shove up with the nuts here. But this player is a 44/34 never fold player.

Been playing two sessions since the last update. Yesterday evening fullring @ Pokerstars, 173 hands and lost $1.16

Not really any big pots during the whole session. These two was the biggest winning and losing hand during the session.

First one, JJ i think its a standard 3bet from a BU raise. Villain is a 17/12 with a 60% raise first in from button. But the big sizing here makes me think he has kinda big hand. Not that much of sample on villain so i cant be sure. Maybe its just better to flat here when he size it up, cause i think my 3bet here gets kinda small.

My 3bet sizing is 25%, to small or should i check call instead. I have overpair with a gutshot and he reraise my cbet here. Kinda confused cause hes big pre sizing and feel i kinda messed it up all the way. I fold, must be a leak right? Maybe call and evaluate the turn but i feel they always bet turn if i just call.

Or do you guys ever shove here vs a kinda tight player.

Second hand, my largest winning hand this session. Openlimper is a 47/3 player and i limp behind with AJ. Recently started to have an overlimping range but maybe AJ is to strong of a hand to limp behind. Anyway IP on the flop with TPGK, checks around and i bet 1/3. Turns two pair facing a donk, if i raise i will never get called by worse i guess so i think its kinda standard to flat his donkbet. River completes a flush and villain checks, earlier i might have checked this one down but here i go with 1/3 pot bet. Should be good cause might be a kinda easy fold if he reraises me here on river.

Ideally, we'd like to have statistics on our opponent's flop raises.
An opponent with a flop raise of 8% or less has very few bluffs, while an opponent with a raise of 15% or more has them.

On average, the field has a raise in BB vs SB spot of 11% with the following distribution:

So I would continue with overpairs on almost all boards except for very draw textures against tight opponents.

A short evening session @ Pokerstars, fullring again and i will stick to it as long Pokerstars isnt down due to some reasons.

130 hands +$1.90 so back in green total.

This was my biggest winning hand this session. I think im having a too tight 3betting range, so started exanded it a bit with some SC´s Ax´s hands and got the best of it in this hand.

Ten days since the last update, was away with my job a couple of days and after that i´ve been playing a bit. Actually more 6max than i planned to do but the fullring play didnt go that good so changed things up a bit. But the 6max play so far has been kinda great. I think my pre ranges are kinda fine, but need to do some study on postflop play.

Is it possible in some way to put two nicknames on two different clients together in Pokertracker so i can get 1 graph combined on Pokerstars and Ipoker?

Since the beginning of this challenge/blog i am +$10.54 and my bankroll stands at $30.54. Been playing 3806 hands so my winrate so far is 13,84bb/100.

I am actually down at fullring and the reason i went to 6 max was to test some things out and improve my redline and so far it has went great, but feel i spew a bit. But maybe that feeling is maybe just me not used to fight for every pot i have invested money in. I feel i have been giving up to much before when not hitting flops.

But im not sure what im doing at the moment so need to study a lot and test things out. Is there some nice and updated articles on this i should read or just play around in GTO Wizard?

The graphs/stats so far.

Pokerstars Fullring+6Max

Pokerstars 6 Max (with a much better redline)

And Ipoker 6 Max (only been playing here when i couldnt log in to pokerstars - kinda hate the site =) the rake is insane so not sure if its even possible to win here)

One big winning hand. Standard ISO raise on the button and also standard call vs the BB 3bet. I feel pretty secure about my play on the flop as well, but when the flush completes on the turn what should my sizing be here or should i just check behind and call down whatever bet comes on the river. Im not to happy when i face the turn raise but i still have some outs here.

What should my lines be or is this just fine?My small turn sizing might induce some bluffs as well.

Here is one hand that is kinda spewy but its also this kind of play that have improved my redline. I feel that small bets from villains at 2NL often means they are kinda weak so practically just tries to buy the pot here. Is this OK or should i stop doing this right away. The villain is a 14/0 so think hes able to fold. He bets 3BB into 40 on the river so was suprised he did call my river raise.

Hand 1 is okay.

Hand 2.
The SB is probably a weak player and I wouldn't try to bluff him.
I like to pressure preflop with a wider range, but on the flop, I would just fold.

Don't bother with things like smart bluffs or a nice red line on nl2.
Your opponents won't appreciate it anyway. Just focus on extracting maximum value with your strong hands.

Let's see your preflop stats once you've played at least 10k hands
I'll try to give you some advice.

3 days since last update, and about 2000 more hands being played. It keeps going really good, and the bankroll is at the moment $49.06

So +$29.06 in 6775 hands with a winrate of 21.44bb/100.

I know you guys probably will say it is too early to think about this (since my sample size is to small so maybe i cant know if im a winning player on these stakes yet), but whats your advice on moving up. I want to leave the bottom $2NL as fast as i can, and make progress. So i dont think i need like 250 dollars to play 5NL. So how should i proceed? Should i play a minimum of hands first at 2NL before i even considering moving up or should i stick to 10BI, 20BI etc. etc.?

The graph so far, since i changed my nit play postflop my redline has made some real progress.

And a couple of hands.

Nr 1

Kinda standard raise from SB vs limper. Flop TPTK and fire 1/3 pot. I have made it standard to cbet 1/3 on almost all flops, i know it is a leak at highers takes but feels it works fine at 2NL. But do you think i should go bigger with my value hands, say bet lika 75% with TPTK and better?

Really dont like the turn and bet kinda small, since its often enough to get them to fold on these kind of boards. But should i just slow down here. Think i get runned over to much if i check here and they can bluff with all of their range and force me to fold.

My plan will be to play at least 15000hands at each limit/game before i even consider moving up.

First losing session today in a while, my bluffs didnt work out at all and met villains top range like all the time. But **** happens, just keep on grinding.

I would recommend you play with BRM 30BI up to nl25.
So, for nl5 you need $150, but you can mix nl2 and nl5 with $100 BR.

Against regs, it is better to use one standard sizing. Against fish, bet as much as you want.

I'd rather bet again big, something like 3/4, and check the river.

We have OESD (8 clean outs) +Over cards (6 not clean outs). Villain raises small, so the call is okay.

Thanks for your advice. I will keep grinding 2NL until i reach $100. Im playing 3 tables at once now, and think i will add like one 5 NL table when im at $100.

Just a short status update. Been playing a couple of days since my last post.

After my last losing session i made some work with GTO Wizard, with focus on cbetting oop. I was cbetting way to often OOP and have adjusted my play after the study. The result so far after that has been promising.

Totalt 8163 hands and my bankroll now stands at $62.03, +$42.03 since the beggining of the blog with a winrate of 25bb/100.
