Hello guys! Sorry for starting this challenge thread at the midle of april , but I am opening it now hopeing it will keep me motivated and get trough downsings with at least a drop of optimism!

My name is Robert and I am 20 , I have been playing poker for 3 years now. Started to play home games with friends back then barely knowing the basic rules ; but short after discovered the online poker and started with a 50$ free capital wich ofc I busted it in 3 days . I continued to play freerolls on different platforms for few cents ... or dollars that I always ended up loosing .
At the begging of last year I started to get a bit better and focused on becoming a profitable poker player . So I said to myself that I will make 1k$ by the end of 2010 ! I got my own house , and moved alone in september I think so I started to grind srs the turbo nanos Sad thing I ended up with just 400$ profits playing on Stars ; but sometimes things don't work out the way we want ....

So that would be my poker career till 2011 , but since I didn't started this thread properly at the beginning of this year I have to write what happened down here ( hopefully won't be too boring )

At the begging of this year I told myself that I will make 30k from poker .
I choosed to stay on stars but didn't wanted to deposit ( life time I think I deposited just 30$ in total , 10$ 3 times wich ofc I lost em turbo ). Instead I had enough fpps so I started to play freerolls on points till I made some bucks ; then I started to grind the 0.10 360 man turbos followed by 0.25 90 man and the 0.55 45man turbos . It went pretty well , I got to 70$ from just fpps but sadly my bankroll management sucked so I ended up loosing my profits in cash games wich got me back to few $.

So I continued to play the 0.10 and cash games , but by not being motivated I played terrible (I even asked a friend to give me few $) and eventually lost ALMOST everything .
I say almost because I had 2 cents left .

At this point I told myself that I suck big time , and if I want to reach my goal I need to get better . Thus I ended up taking a break for like 5 days in wich I started to study and watch tons of videos . Most of the things I already knew but also found alot of new info that I had no ideea about (like buble play , ICM , EV , etc etc ) , also I tryed to get a stacking deal mostly for bankroll to get me started faster , but obviously I got rejected thx to my bad stats with low profits .

And here it comes my unbeliveable but true story

After all I learned during this break I got back my confidence and wanted to try out the new things I learned , and by having no ideea what will happen I said that I will play my whole stars bankroll in an 0.2$ hyper turbo (obv thinking that I will loose them super fast ) and then deposit in a few days and get myself started .

So I played that hyper turbo and got a min cash 10 Cents I think , with those cents I played an 0.10 360 man and with some srsly good run got a #4 place for 2.80$ . At this point I played few more 0.10 and some cash games in few days I had a decent roll of 25 $ . Then in one night I decided to play the 1.10$ turbo R mtt and with some serious god mode run I managed to FT it and with 4 ppl left we chopped the prizes This boosting my roll with aprox 800$ !!!!!

WIth my decent roll I started in feb to grind the 2.20 180 man turbos and continued till now , ofc mixing them with 3.25 45man and lots of other micro turbos with some shots at low stakes .
I currently play with no HUD or table ninhja cuz my pc is too old and it can't handle them.

in 2.20 180s I am atm 41% roi 20 tabling ...after 1 big ds in march and lot of B/e games this month , so I guess I am pretty decent and I will be able to achive my goal !

Goals :

- Get 6k roll then start grinding the 12$ 180s and 45s
- Try shots from time to time at them and hopefully boost my roll so I won't need to wait till I farm 6k
-Get a new pc and HEM for limpers and limp folding donks
- Boost my roll till 12k$ where I can play confortable any 12 - 30$ limits ( I am a bankroll nit so I am not taking any risks )
- make at least 30k$ profits by the end of this year

and I will do it like this :

I will continue playing the 2.20 180s along with 3.25 45s or play just 3.25 along with 6.50 45s regging aswell for the regular micro turbo mtts ... not decided yet wich one will be ... probably both swiching em from time to time
When I get long term hot runs I will give shots to 7.70 , 12 $ 3.30 R 180s and 12 $ 45s . If I loose more than 500$ playing these I get back to grind the micros till I will be running super good again and I will take another shot



- current roll 2k$ ish ( I have to point out that I live from this so I have to cashout monthly )

How many hrs you play a day and how many tables ?

Good luck man! I have a simillar experience in fulltilt where I made $2000 out of ~$2 during one month, but cashed almost everything out, so I'm starting a same mission again

ehm .. usually I play 20 tables around 7-8 hours but I have days when I play 12 to 15 hours
playing it full time .. and this month I had my biggest volume Lifetime.

damn GL to u to ... Idk if I would have the determination to start over again from such low roll

Good, how come you dont play on FT ?
I think the rakeback will help you allot. Specially that you do volume.
Playing that many S&G, what is a normal downswing for you ?

Well actually I was thinking about playing on FT .... tired of this bad run on stars ..... but I won't deposit yet maybe in few weeks
And no I don't have my fulltilt acc trough pokerstrategy to get that 27% rakeback .. so eh that sux
but still playing on a platform where u run decent is nice .
My Ds ... uhm look at the graph in the first post u cann see there the DS and upsings I think it misses some $ but is aprox alright .



So after seaching my profits on Sharkscope ORP and topshark ... noticed that they are about the same but on every one the profits differ a bit so I just checked all my cashouts and transfers + the current roll and made the sum.

Total profits for 2011 : 4389

and from now when I will update I will post the total profits instead of roll .

blehh I guess is fine for micros but to reach my goal I need to move up Fast

so after such a bad run almost the whole month with tons of beats and coolers I decided to have some time off and play less to get over tilt and so in the last 2 days I played like 3 h a day and went only Down . Also got a brand new bike wich is cool cuz I didn't ride one in years !!

ok so in the last few days even if I said I will play alot , I actually didn't ... because of bad run ... and because I was getting tilted so fast I took some more days off ... and with an amazing weather outside it helped me alot

so I started to play more on monday but not that much also just like an avg of 80 games a day and finnally recovered my Losts from the last shot at 12s and I hope I got over the bad run and I will start winning again....

I decided that I in may I will play every 7s possible along with 2s and see how that works

ok so since the last update I didn't played much till 30 april ... and ended up just loosing a bit

April summary :

In april I played pretty much ... started the month very good with a FT in the 1R turbo mtt getting only #5 place ... wich got me on + 750$ ...so after that I keeped on grinding but I ran terrible .... so that mtt kinda saved my month ( like more than 50% of monthly profits came from that mtt ) ... and also took a shot at 12s and obv Pstart won't let me win in higher stakes so I lost some hundreds wich took me a week to get em back so thats how my month ended .
And it was pretty tilting ... had to take good breaks to get over .... and I am not getting tilted too easy




and as u can see I didn't had big downswings ... just 1 Ds at the begginig of the month and one at the end ( but that at the end is because of my shot at bigger stakes ) ! So actually I was winning but I was running so bad ... getting deep in many and bust em for min cashes etc .. But at least I am happy with my volume and also mantained gold star status so more rakeback for me

As I said in the prev update I will play every 7s along with 2s this whole month , so yesterday I played like 50 games and shipped a 7s along with some $ from 2s and today played the same ... probably 100 games or more and shipped 2 x 7.70 in a row + some $ from 2.20 aswell so pretty good month so far !

uhm.... alright I will give it another try and see how it goes

since I didn't updated for almost 2 months I will put some words about may :

Was a good month overall. Started good like 1k + then it became swingy , like 3-4 loosing days then 1 winning day when I was making profits over those small DS ... but in the end managed to reach my goal and make 3k$ profits from 2s and 8s .... and put in almost 3k games

the graph is a bit inacurrate showing a little less profits( probably cus of the rebuy mtts ) but is almost there :




June :

It started as a terrible month ... as soon as I rised the stakes to grind those 15s and 3Rs I started loosing and I was rly rly trying ... playing like over 100 games / day .... but at some point I was down in those 15s like 1300$ and in 8s down 1500$ with no deep runs at all , not to talk about mtts because there I was running even worse .... and in 2s aswell pretty much breakeven but at least I was winning in 3Rebuys .

The DS was for like 2600 games , and the max Down I got like - 2.1k .... but starting with june 24 I started to win again getting back my losts and make like 1k profit ...

So after all the bad days during this month stopped and I started to get deep again I was really questioning my play ... every day I was making lots of fts but couln't win any 180 just 2nd and 3rd and other places ... and I had like 5 days like this where I should of been winning but I wasn't , and this made me think my ranged became bad and the DS influenced my game too much and I had to change them back ... so along with all the HH rews I done this month ... and I done alot of em ( alone or with friends ) .... in the last day of june I took all the time in the morning since I woke up till I started to grind later on to think about my ranges , remembering how I was playing be4 this month .

So I changed most of my ranges (I was rly too loose in some spots and super nit in others , and some 3 bet ranges were also ridiculously loose ) and added some improvements to my old playstyle ( thx to the big amount of HH rews ) and around 6 PM started to grind .
Since it was the last day of the month I really wanted to reach plat star , I was like 800 vpps away so I played like 12 hours at 6 aM finishing the day on + 2k $ and becoming plat star . Saved my month , and I am happy with the volume aswell .

Feels nice to achive a goal imo . Plat star powa !!!!

The graph isn't so accurate ... since I started to play 3Rs the rebuys aren't counted properly ... the DS looks way smaller and the profits bigger .... but is the only graph I got
