(Bi) Yearly Update

Spent a year or so in NYC playing around at different home games. Started off at a 1/2 game in Queens to get the hang of live, eventually moved to some deeper 5/5 games in Manhattan and a 25/25 game twice after selling action. I've met some great people at the games I've went to, although the winrate is not looking as hot as I'd like it to be. Last year I was pretty lazy about tracking results, although I'd estimate I made around ~10k in live games and another ~5k online. Not the best year for results in poker, although most of my volume has fallen off and I'll admit I donked around a bit live.

New Year's resolution is to be more organized and keep track of results. Also to not play as much live as I haven't really studied any theory for >200bb deepstacked games so the time is just not worth it.

Anyways I also put in a significant amount of time over the summer studying theory, so I decided to try my hand at Stars again for my short two-week stint back in my hometown for winter break.

Small sample size but pretty happy with results . IMO there are some good regs, esp at 500NL, but there's also plenty of weaker regs and some whales that come and go. I table select pretty hard. There are some spots like BvB that I'm still very unfamiliar with, but I just can't justify the time/money investment atm.

Probably going to lay off the poker for a while, although I've always said that. Want to get a good-paying job right out of Uni before focusing on poker again... I feel like there's a ceiling on salary as a poker player and living in NYC 9 months a year makes it pretty unattractive.

Will probably update again at end of year

08/08 Update:

Been enjoying myself at university and not really playing too much poker. Made maybe ~10k this year live and then played a bit online. My regulated site (Pokerstars) stats for this year so far :

Currently double majoring in Economics and Computer Science right now and will probably go down software dev path, although I am admittedly very late. Will be working hard on that for the next semester so will have very little time to play poker. Some fun HH:
