Cliffs to save you all from walls of text you won't read anyway...but secretly making you read walls of text anyway
*Been playing poker online for fun for 10+years, played up to 100nl online
*Been running my own business the last 2 years(a small personal training studio)
*Having our first baby end of April/start of May(she may come sooner), so making life changes and closing down my gym end of March, so ill be unemployed
*Wife giving me permission to attempt Poker full time until end of May while we wait for baby to come and I transition/close down the business and all the extra crap that comes with it
*I have 91 days until the end of May, starting next Monday to make this happen. Technically as of writing this post I have 96 days.
*Starting Bankroll is $160, one of the conditions of Wife letting me do this is I can't add money to my bankroll outside of poker earnings.
*If I do NOT have a $4,000 bankroll at the end of May-I MUST get a job(I have one lined up with the company she works for if I want it)
*If I DO have a $4,000 bankroll or higher by end of May, I get to continue playing Poker full time for however long I decide.
*Will be starting at 10nl 6max, with aggressive BRM, taking shots when I hit 10 buyins for next level
*Assuming a 5bb/100 win rate(conservative) and 200 hands/hr played roughly, it will take me an average of 7-7.5 hours/day of grinding in order to play enough hands to hit the $4,000 mark in the 91 day time frame. Lots of volume incoming.
*I will post daily updates on this thread with hours played, hands played, interesting spots, life updates with baby girl, and anything else I find useful or entertaining or troll bait worthy.
*Things I struggle with that I am aware of:
-not playing enough volume (I usually play sessions of 90-120 min only so the volume increase will be a challenge for me)
-letting short term variance affect my mental game which causes me to NOT put in volume (plan to combat this is daily meditation every morning, regular exercise, and hand reviews to confirm good/bad play while also "detoxing" my brain from the day prior if we have any bad variance by writing in a journal)
If you made it this far, follow the post and stay tuned. I'll be using the rest of this week as a "warm up" to start prepping myself for higher volume sessions.
