Thank you for taking the time to read this...

I've been lurking on here for a little while. I've decided to take the plunge and start this cash game business in a serious way. My background is mostly cash but with some mtts in the past. I've done ok at 5nl and now I'm going to try my hand at 10nl. I hope to become a nice winner there and move up as soon as I feel I have domination over most regs It's not going to be easy but I hope to get to 25nl one day. First off I need to start beating 10nl.

I've already played around 5k hands and I lost 3 BIs. Unfortunately, I didn't have a working hud but I've now purchased PokerTracker so I'll have a record of how I'm doing during my journey.

I'll put some interesting hands in here and will post a graph of my progress every few days, as well as an end of month graph, review etc. I want to try to play at least some hands everyday, I have a few hours for this so it shouldn't be a problem.

Peace out.

First session for the thread played. Only 1300 hands but I'm really tired, I got very little sleep last night and was working in the morning. My team are playing in the Europa league final tonight too so I don't want to be exhausted for that.

Session went ok, I played some spots very well, others were a little spewy perhaps, but worked out.

I wonder what we should do ott here? I thought maybe a x/r would get the most folds, I can't see villain folding very often on that turn. I don't really like x/c but maybe it's ok?

This might look needless but I know the villain from 5nl and he raises sets on wet flops, once he calls his range is capped, I could just bet a std amount otr but he's the type of player who'll call AJ otr there without a thought, overbet jam gets the job done imo.

Hand 1 is a double barrel. You pick up a lot of equity and will most likely fold out underpairs, A hi floats, and 5x.

I think you have much worse hands to bluff on the river,KQ,QT,flush draws and stuff.AQ is just chek behind/give up.The population at 10NL isnt folding enough and your range is not that strong to overbet push.Which value hands you play like this and what do you expect to call then?

Ok, cool. I actually did double barrel it. I wasn't sure about whether to fire or x/c though. I didn't want to get raised. Thanks. I actually think I prefer x/c now though, not sure. I think either is fine.

I probably wouldn't play a value hand that way but I don't think this guy notices stuff like that. I like the x otr vs most villains but this guy doesn't have many fd's in his range since he won't call anything below like KQs oop like that. At least I don't think he would.

      Thanks for your input.

First session of the day... Played quite poorly overall, missed value in some pots that were obvious bets, also got caught bluffing in a pretty lame spot. I hit top pair otr with KQ on 977JQ after x/c otf and x/r turn, just over half Pot otr hoping 2nd pair might call but he jammed. I didn't want to get bluffed otr, I don't think he believed me and thought he may have floated my turn raise, I guess not. Not sure what he had but JJ was likely.

Got totally mashed in non showdown pots lol. A lot of it my own fault.

      A few more hands...

This was a pretty funny one. Had only 2 hands on the guy. He'd 3b already, not that it matters in that sample but anyway.. There was something about his timing that seemed fishy to me. Not sure what it was but something didn't add up lol. I was on the brink of a fold but noticed he was Russian.... I was a little concerned he had a stray 8 tbh but I'm a fish so I called. Probably not right but yeah. As per usual the boards runs out horridly in 3bs pots right.

Another session played 4 hours before I have to get up for work lol. I jammed on a habitual squeezer with 88, snapped me off with AA. I don't mind the play tbh, it looks spewy but I'll do it with bigger hands and he won't have it a lot of the time. Almost caught a str8 otr haha.

I think I played ok, not great, I was nitting it a bit after that 88 hand but still couldn't avoid some bad spots where I figured I had the best hand but kept having to fold turns/rivers. I think this is how Full Ring is tbh, I don't have a great amount of recent experience at FR cash, but it appears that you have sessions where you run everyone over and other sessions where you run into monsters constantly. Either way, I'm running pretty well overall. I certainly haven't been death switched yet, other than a few hands in that first session.

Frustrating session today, couldn't really hit anything and made a couple of mistakes not noticing short stacks, one of which I doubled up not realising he was short. Couldn't really hit much post flop, bad runouts etc. I did stack someone AA vs AK but also lost AA vs AK.

                      A few hands...

I'm happy with this since river K reduces his AK combos and he has to fold AQ/AJ.

Villain is spazzy reg, he floats quite a bit. I'm not sure why he does this as I've played quite straight forward vs him, I don't know if I posted it but he did exactly the same a few days ago, with the same hand too.

This one may have been a mistake in terms of my 4b sizing but if I make it too big from ep I'm going to get too many folds imo. Is this ok? Guy on the button is aggro and fishy btw which is why I x otf. No idea what the reg fish with 44 is thinking but whatever.

I'm fed up with Full Ring. I don't think I'm suited to it. I want too much action haha. Kept running into huge hands whilst I was overplaying marginal hands. I won at FR but I don't really have the patience for it. So I'm back at 6max for now at least. Just had a poor session of FR, tilted off a stack, then switched to 6m and I'm back in profit for the day.

This was seriously frustrating, I figured he had to at least stab in such a big pot. I guess I'm weighted toward KK/AA but yeah.

So I'm looking to stay at 6m for the time being, I think I'll be able to move up to 25nl if I have a good June. Hope so anyway.

Quite an eventful session today. I ran pretty well, which is nice. I'm not sure what's going on with me at the moment but I'm starting every session like I'm on crack or something, just keep going nutz, it's taking me about 20 minutes to calm down lol. Anyway, it hasn't cost me too much so it's ok for now.

                                      On to some hands...

This hand turned out to be a bit of a car crash, poorly played perhaps and just weird. Villain was 0/0 after 13 hands but for some reason I hadn't noticed this. My hud may have been delayed or something, I hope I did check before I 3b lol.

Anyway, his flop raise is like: "eh?" Felt like it was either total airball spaz or he was fishy and loved his medium strength overpair. Couldn't see him raising 22 or even calling the 3b with it given his stats so far. 4x is obviously not in his range either. So yeah, figured I had FE as bizarre as that sounds and I had outs vs all his overpairs. I should've jammed, not sure why I clicked it back but it has the same result pretty much. I was so confused when he called but we obviously have to jam it in and run good. AK.. hmmm, he got us good I guess.

This looks terrible from me but whatever, just one of those hands that got weird really quickly. I don't mind it tbh.

I don't know, what else does he raise here? He was relatively unknown, playing 17/13 at that point but not many hands.

I couldn't see many 8x, KQ is possible, I get so confused vs turn donk bets, unless it's a known villain I'm not sure what to think. Anyway, turn is obviously a call. Otr it felt like he'd bet bigger with KQ, but he could still have an 8. Can't really see many villains betting otr without at least a set.

This one was a little bit splashy but his hand is pretty face up with this line imo. I like a bluff better with Ah obv.

Probably better not to x behind the upper end of the straight imo. I was glad he didn't have an A.

I'm not sure if betting the turn is right, do we x/c? The flop might even be marginal, even though we have tp + gutter. Ok it's probably a cbet but being oop makes these spots awkward. What should we be doing here?

I may play another session a little later, it feels good playing 6m again, I'm not quite as confused with ranges.

By far the most frustrating session yet, I monkey tilted off 2 stacks. I don't think I've ever played 6k 10nl hands vs so many fish and only won $30 in showdown. Simply couldn't hit a pair let alone anything better than that. I think I was involved in about 30 3/4b pots, pretty sure I only got to sd in 3 of them and I think I lost all of those too. It was just disgusting, running into hand after hand.

Oh well. My tilt problems were always going to come rushing back at some point. I might take a day off tomorrow, need to get my head sorted. Luckily it didn't end up 10+ BIs down, it so easily could have.

I haven't posted for a few days. I got really tilty at 10nl and didn't even feel like playing let alone posting. It's not that I can't beat 10nl. I can beat it fairly comfortably. I don't know what it is but there's something about it that makes me go a little bit crazy haha. It doesn't help when you run bad when you move up but I really need to control myself somehow.

Anyway, I decided to just chill back at 5nl for a bit, just to calm down if nothing else. I may as well post my monthly update as I'm not sure how much I'll play tomorrow and Monday.

That's about 20 days at 5nl FR. I ran quite well during that small sample overall, but I could've played better in some spots for sure. The standard of play is very weak, lots of regs that don't know what they're doing and a surprising number of fish.

And here's my 10nl monkey tilt...

10nl isn't that much different from 5nl at FR but I get a little bit frustrated for some reason.

And my overall results for the month...

As you can see I played some 6max in there too. I'm satisfied with how I played and ran overall, I ran both good and bad, so average really I guess. At least I didn't run like death all month. Also shipped 2x $25 bonuses too. So +$400 isn't too bad for nano stakes. I'd got my bankroll over $150 for the beginning of the month at 2nl reg speed tables so I'm up over $600 in about 5 weeks from a $14 deposit which is nice. I'm quite happy with the volume too, I tired to play a bit everyday and I think I managed that.

So next month will be back to 10nl I guess, I need to stay clam. I'll probably settle down after a few more sessions. I'm hoping to beat 10 and get close to moving up to 25nl over the next couple of months, it depends how things go, but I doubt it will be until July.
