PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (4 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php

Button ($25)
Hero (SB) ($29.29)
BB ($7.64)
UTG ($23.71)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, J
1 fold, Button raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.75, 1 fold, Button calls $2

Flop: ($5.75) J, 10, 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $4, Button raises to $22.25 (All-In),
This is a pretty standard call in a 3bet pot vs an unknown.

Dont beat yourself up over this hand if you got stacked.

There are tons of draws and other hands villain jams with here that you have beat.

Folding here all the time without any reads would be a pretty big leak.

Good luck by the way.

Input really appreciated. It really does help people following along, it makes me feel accountable for the actions I take at the table.

I have had two good sessions in a row and am now able to play strictly 25nl, which I am proud of because this is my second time around buying in and grinding 10nl. A few things I've noticed in the past couple days playing is that players at 25nl throw chips around more than at 10nl. Maybe I am just running hot, or have came across some profitable tables but I've witnessed more spewy play at 25nl so far, hopefully it continues.

A little background of my past poker experience: I played 10nl and a little 20nl on Cake Poker 2 years ago and pushed a $200 roll up to $520 only to lose 85% of it in one hand while I was drunk one night... needless to say I pray that doesn't happen again. This time around I feel more confident in my game and now realize how much money I have given away due to horrible mistakes such as tilt and drunken play.

My bankroll is sitting at roughly $460 and I hope I run well enough to not look back to 10nl. I really wish I was able to receive rakeback as my winrate is diminished quite a bit due to the sites rake policy. Nevertheless I am determined to continue playing well and making good decisions, everything else that happens is up to the cards.

Bovada.

http://poker.bovada.lv/poker-promoti...ana-cash-promo

Theyve been doing them the last few months, so Id expect a similar promotion in September. Check the promo page on the website the next few days and every month.

You just need to log in, enter the promotion, and meet the point and satellite requirements.

Make sure to play the lowest priced acceptable satellite. In the case of this month is was...

Play in at least one Punta Cana Tournament*

*buy-in of $5.50 or higher

That left you with a $44.50 bonus each week if you meet the point requirements which should be achievable at NL25.

Good luck.

I haven't played for about six days now, I am not sure if the last day I played was Thursday or Wednesday. One reoccurring theme I have noticed in my life is once I get ahead (from my current position) I have expectations for myself to continue on an upward trend. Soon after, my feeling of being ahead, I feel as though I am not capable of achieving constant forward progress. I feel I lack the skill to "climb to the top." In this fear I do not try my hardest to achieve a certain goal because I fear that I am not good enough to do so. My fear of failing has held me back on many accounts in my life. I find myself not trying 100% because then I have an excuse to fail. I want to overcome this downfall through poker, and prove to myself that I can achieve a long term lofty goal.

Their are many themes in life that pop up in poker, (make good decisions, patience, and following a good strategy) just to name a few. The idea of not trying 100% is more of a trend than a theme but I think it falls under the same microscope. I hope poker is more of a game to some people and not just me, I really think it teaches players some (Abstract) concepts whether they are cognizant of it or not.

This thread is going to continue to be the place where I post my D.E.A.L.T. As much as I don't want is to serve as a diary it is the only logical place I have to write things down. I apologize in advance for the lack of poker material in here, I haven't found time to play much lately. I find it key to not play, just to play, I really want to have the mental energy to be able to sit down focus and play. With that said I find my mind often wandering when I play. I am not sure the root cause of this but I need to be able to completely focus while playing 25nl so I am ready for 50 nl. I read over some 50nl posts the other day and players there really seem to understand different situations that I do not. I know I would like to set a certain number of hands as a guide for how long I want to stay at 25nl but I find that sort of goal destructive to what I want to accomplish. I need to stay focused and have a very good feel for the game before I move to 50nl or I will get crushed.

I played a session for an hour and a half today. I got absolutely rocked, it was one of those sessions where you flop the nuts and still feel as though you are going to lose (and I wound up losing). I felt very rusty, I do not want to take that long of a break again. I like to get into a poker rhythm and not take long breaks in between playing sessions.

Ill post a couple hands once I get the hands downloaded from Bovada.

BR sitting at $410

This is my last post ever. I have made it sorta far in this journey and am going to give up. I know I am such a pussy for giving up but the reasons for doing so are justifiable. First, I get super bored playing BR management after 3 weeks. Second, I don't have time for a girlfriend when I play. 3rd I don't get to relax and not worry about anything, because when I'm done with everything I don't do anything. Poker was my life for awhile but I have to give it up. It was a great run, I will still always think about playing in tourneys but I am retiring for now, peace witches
