A little about me.. I'm a software engineer currently working in private equity on the east coast but reside in Longmont, Colorado. I played poker online prior to Black Friday however haven't really played much since. My goal with this is to learn more about the game and enjoy the process - I have no intention of ever making a run at playing for a living. My bankroll is fluid as I can deposit as needed but my main goal is to try and turn $100 into a car over the next year. Why a car? No idea other than it will be interesting too see how much of a car I can afford at the end. I'm really here to just learn and have fun.

I'll be playing online at Ignition.

GL!

After you get a few posts in, hit me up via DM. I can get you a good Ignition setup going.

Got around to setting everything up. I'm on an M1 Mac so so had to use Parallels to get the card grabber to work with Ignition and PT4. Played about a hundred hands to test it out.

Going to sit down and play a session tonight and will probably play most of the weekend. Will post some hands and chart on Monday.

This is my exact set up as well. The only limitation is if you also play ACR you can't play them simultaneously.

Oh, yeah.. bummer. I was thinking of playing tournaments on ACR. However, that makes sense.

So my VM kept crashing in the middle of games so I decided to give up and play on ACR as I was only of couple hundred hands in.

Honestly spent a lot more time this week on the RIO From the Ground Up course (just completed the pre-flop section), reviewing hands, and learning how to use a solver than actually playing but felt productive. Still need to get in a lot more volume as I only have about 1k hands right now since switching over to ACR.

So, before you see this chart I have some explaining to do.

So I'm playing 2NL while I learn but tonight my wife asked how things were going and then told me I work too hard and spend too little to not have a little fun so she demanded I play 100NL tonight - we settled on 50NL after some hard pushback.

If I was concerned with losing my bankroll I likely would have had a hard no but, again, I'm just enjoying learning and she's right so I decided to have a little fun tonight. I'll drop back down to 2NL when I pick back up Monday.

I'll post some of the hands I have flagged for review tomorrow.

Once I reach about 50k hands, I really plan on getting some coaching as I'm completely overwhelmed by how much information is out there right now.

Cheers all.

Decided to play a few more hands at 50NL before bed. Back to the regularly scheduled programming of 2NL on Monday. Unfortunately I have a work trip coming up I have to prepare for so won't be playing tomorrow.

Why don't you just keep playing 50 if you don't have a bankroll constraint?

There's really no reason you need to start at 2nl unless you just can't stand to lose the money.

My thought was more skill level while learning.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying you don't feel like your skill level is appropriate for 50nl?

Yup - maybe that's a bad take?

Yeah there's no rule that everyone has to start at the pure bottom. If you're holding your own I would just keep learning and playing there.

Alright - I’ll do that. Appreciate your time.

Don't want to let this die so here is a quick update.

I ended up having to fly back to the east coast for a work trip and haven't seen nearly the volume I want however after our move on the 10th I plan on sitting down and focusing a lot more on this. While I haven't been playing much, I have been working my way through the FTGU course and reading through hands posted to 2+2.

I have not stuck to a structured bankroll / level and currently hopping around depending on how I feel - but, usually playing 25NL and 50NL. I know this is a terrible idea. Again, I am here to learn and have no issue depositing again if need be. Once I pick back up after the move, I'm going to probably stick with 25NL and go from there.

Switched over to a PC as well and PT is significantly less laggy than it was on my M1 Mac. Here is my PT4 chart so far - I have no idea how to interpret it yet. Also, it doesn't seem to be carrying my previous hands over before switching.

I also subscribed to GTO wizard so hunting down some videos on how best use it for study.

I'm going to play a session tonight and then will post my flagged hands as well as the biggest winners and losses.

Cheers all.

I know it's a tiny sample size, but I did some digging into how to best read the PT4 chart and it appears I struggle with getting people to showdown. Something to work on. Anyone have any good tips or reading on ways to improve that area of my game?

What is the best way to interpret my graph to get a high level picture of how I'm doing with the understanding that it's a tiny sample size?

Get preflop down or you won't be able to buy one of these.

Would recommend the GTO Wizard 500nl simplified ranges

Mostly XR flop or turn but this is fine vs certain opponents. Wouldn't worry about donking rivers

Play a bit tonight but mostly spent time learning GTO Wizard and importing my hands.

Found this and will likely use it as a foundation for my study sessions outside of the RIO course.

Here are the big picture results from the limited number of hands I played today. Will dig into them more tomorrow.
