It was a tough day. Started off at the $1 mtt tables, and things did not get going too well. After losing a few buyins there, I decided to hit the HU SNG streets.
My first opponent was pretty terrible, and I won my first 2 husngs. At that point however a lot of people who were sweating the stream starting jumping into my games, and while I wasn't playing anyone that was amazing, I was also not playing fishy $1 husngs. The 5% rake started to seem pretty brutal here, so I moved over to cash down about $3.
The cash session frankly did not go well. I had a hand I 4b A6ss(? I think?), and got it in for a $6 pot against T9o on T55ss. Never had I wanted to hit a $6 flush draw so badly.
Then there were some regs who started playing that were clearly just having a go at it. I 3b mp with JJ, and the SB just cold called QJhh. He x/jammed 982ssh, and this time I needed to hold for a $6 pot again. The board ran out Xh Xh, and he shipped the pot.
After that I ran a couple untimely bluffs and make some bad call downs. I still think there will be a ton of value in the $1 mtts/freerolls, but I am going to need to change my strategy a little bit to put myself in the best games.
I wish I could posts graphs hands, but WSOP does not allow you to use a tracker. Maybe I can start copy pasting down some HH, but lord knows if I can even get them to post in format.
Back at the grind tomorrow at 6 PM PST!
If you look at the sharkscope leader boards people make a lot more playing Hyper Heads Up Sit and Gos then they do Turbos.
There's less edge in Hypers but the rake is lower because of this. Also, you can play 3 Hypers in the time that it takes to play one Turbo.
Hyper rake on Pokerstars is 2%. That's by far the cheapest game on the site and they attract a lot of spewy recreational gamblers too.
Looks like you got unlucky in the cash. One of the guys you were playing heads up with was obviously capable of being a $100 reg and sought you out...
Best of luck with the challenge.
