Whats your long term goals. 1 month, 6 months, 1 year?

Are you worried about your overall physical health. I know as i turned like 24ish, i started to really worry a lot more about my health. kinda dumb coming from me, as i am still 290ish, but still think its something to think about. not just talking weight. talking drugs/whatever else.

Why not move back home if you are just playing merge? mexico can be sweet, but there is nothing like home.

How much do you think you can make playing merge super turbos? is it enough to make a real "living". not just talking about a living for a 21 year old.

do you think you will ever go back to hypers on stars? the swings are pretty fun, let me tell you...

How much do you spend a month in mexico (all your partying included)

Glad you are finding success in what you are doing and hope you continue with it all. obv its not very fun to think about the future at times, and much more fun to live in the present, but yeah.

I think i want a change of residence from cabo. are there houses avail there? maybe 4 bedrooms on the beach. saw a post from simplicity that seemed like it was a really legit place.

good luck in your grinding.

I will respond to everything later, good questions you have Zima, and Ice obv gonna Ice

I'm going to get on the grind in a minute, I've chosen 2 different candidates to do a coaching with profit deal with; 1 will not start until August 5th as the player is on vacation/busy until then, and the other is "captainserious" on Merge, should be a fun adventure! I'll update his progress (SS graphs) as we go along to make this thread even more interesting

When I was looking around there weren't many 4 bedroom places. We were shown 4 and then a 4 bed condo. The condo looked really nice though. You could probably find something outside of town as well. Also, I don't think you'd have trouble finding a smaller place.

I (captainserious) don't play high enough yet where I think Josh has to worry about me cutting into his profit just yet (although obv the goal is to get to playing the higher games)

I am pretty ****ing excited at the oppurtunity to work with josh. I have always lurked the super turbo threads and have some big respect for those guys. Can't wait to get my grind on and start crushing these games. Should be a fun ride.

1 month:
-12k+ games
-7.5k+ profit post RB
-Ship Merge LB
-Work out 20 days
-At least take a walk on the beach every day

6 months:
-Still grinding super turbos or hyper turbos (stick to a game ffs)
-Be on my own dime for up to $20s on Merge/$15s on cake, while being backed for higher stakes
-Lose 25+ more lbs from now til then
-Put away/invest/something at least 5k, gotta start somewhere again!

12months:
-Hopefully will have a small stable of guys by then and also have all my own action, maybe backing for $100s+
-Will be in the best shape of my life (post high school)
-Invest/put away like 20k+

I'm not sure other than this, I'm not good at thinking outloud on what my long term goals are, I'm not sure anyone is.

Yep, I think I posted in your pg&c a few times about my health myself, I've been working on getting on a slightly better diet (not doing that well) and working out more, which I have been doing better at since about mid april. Another thing I used to not do is drink water, been getting slighter better about that and am trying to cut my ridiculous soda intake, which is something I get trolled about by my buddies down here in Rosa . My biggest problem right now is alcohol, I havent done any coke in >2 months now which I'm proud of since I'm still around it quite a bit, but I'm alwayssss drinking, gotta cut down on that!

Just gotta keep on truckin and we'll both get there! I think I've lost about 25 lbs so far in Mexico in 9months, not really what I was hoping for, but better than continuing to steadily gain weight, which is something I've done since I've been about 12 lol....got really bad when I moved to Vegas in 2011 as I was just eating out 3x a day.

Why not move back home if you are just playing merge? mexico can be sweet, but there is nothing like home.

I was thinking about this the other day but I absolutely cannot stand Illinois and I absolutely love Mexico; I wouldn't change anything right now. If I happened to become super broke (remember, I was/am buried in a TON of makeup coming back to Merge), I'd consider moving home, but I'm getting by and loving every minute of Rosarito.

How much do you think you can make playing merge super turbos? is it enough to make a real "living". not just talking about a living for a 21 year old.

I think it's plausible to make >100k on Merge in a yr grinding the super turbos if you put in good volume, win pre RB (not many do) and have a good RB deal. I've now completed my 4th full month grinding on Merge (3 from july-september 2011 and June 22-July 22, 2012) and my smallest profit month post RB/bonuses/etc was $8.5k. Granted, I put in pretty good volume all of these months and ran at or above EV, but I still think it's possible. 60k+ should be easily doable as long as I put in volume.

do you think you will ever go back to hypers on stars? the swings are pretty fun, let me tell you...

Not in their current state I won't, but me being me, I obviously will never say "never" to anything . I'm sure you're seeing some absurd swings with your horses at them, hopefully you end up on the right side of variance

How much do you spend a month in mexico (all your partying included)

My partying expense has gone down considerably the past 2months, partially because I've quit going to TJ all the time, and partially because I now have an HK stripper that hangs out with me outside the club quite a bit and I don't have to pay for her, and I actually really like her and I think she likes me and isn't just leading me on, especially since I don't pay her maneyz anymore lol. Usually when I go to TJ now, it's on a night when she wants me to pick her up from work and I'll party for a bit in the clubs, pick her up and then we'll go get dinner/do whatever.

-Rent: $450
-Internet: $40
-Electricity: $100-125
-Phone: $15
-Maid: $30-40
-Gas: $50-70
-Food: $750
-Random BS: $250
-Partying: $3000 (this is based on my avg over the 9months ive lived down here)
Total: $4685-4750

Glad you are finding success in what you are doing and hope you continue with it all. obv its not very fun to think about the future at times, and much more fun to live in the present, but yeah.

Thanks, I'm hoping I just stick with Merge as it was my sweet spot which brought me from busto (when BF happened) to robusto (when I moved to Mexico). I know what you mean for sure, I definitely need to start thinking about my future more!

I think i want a change of residence from cabo. are there houses avail there? maybe 4 bedrooms on the beach. saw a post from simplicity that seemed like it was a really legit place.

Yea what simplicity said for the most part, message me on skype and I can give you some listings or at least put you in contact with some people that I know/trust that could help you out

good luck in your grinding.

Thx much, gl this coming month!

The plan with this is to teach me to be responsible and stick to a schedule, while also making money doing it. My main problem is I have horrible sleep habits and therefore don't stick to a grind schedule that well, I'm hoping now that I have 2 other guys to think about that I start getting into a good routine and waste less time during the day

Re: 10,000th Post: SNE 2012, Jdawg91 Style (+ more!)

Officially been back on Merge for exactly 1 month, pretty exciting that it was a successful 31 days! Hopefully this will be a trend going forwards .

Didn't get in a ton of volume today but when I woke up and decided that I for sure wanted to find 1-2 players to coach, I figured I wouldnt play at all today as I'd just be talking to people and deciding what exactly we were gonna do etc...so I'm happy that I got in >200 games and that I ran well!

I did however learn from some of the merge ST regs that the redline still isn't being calculated properly in HEM, so won't be posting redline graphs until it is fixed once again LOL...pretty frustrating but not having a little red line controlling your life might be better anyway.

Just threw some food in the oven...captainserious railed a session of mine earlier and we were talking through some spots, I'll be going through 6 of his HH files tonight and making notes all the way throughout. I'm hoping tomorrow that I can get him set up with my HEM HUD and that we can discuss a few different topics including the best way to stack/tile your tables (he saw my setup tonight), how long of sessions he should be playing, how he has MK's set up, etc etc and then I'm also hoping to go through his HM DB for the ST's so far and also start dissecting this game from the beginning..starting with 1st level pushing ranges.

Anywaysssss, here's my graphs for the day (merge and revolution)and then a graph for the first month back on Merge

On a random sidenote, I have to credit my Revolution screenname to uncfan11, heard him say "See ya never!" a few times and it's now one of my favorite phrases to say and it's even better to say to a mexican girl who doesnt speak English .

edit: if anyone knows how to make a global alias in the "new" sharkscope, lemme know. the old SS misses about 25% of my games, so thats not an option

Re: 10,000th Post: SNE 2012, Jdawg91 Style (+ more!)

I've been lurking around in this thread for a while, first time posting. I recently just dropped 45 pounds, going from 210 to 165 in about 1 year. A few tips for the upcoming journey:

Change your diet. If you cut out beer and pop in exchange for water and BLACK coffee 5 or 6 days of the week, you're giving up around 5,000 calories/week. That alone could potentially cut out 73 pounds of weight in a year depending on your yearly caloric intake.

Also, eat on a regular schedule. Breakfast is very important! It jump starts the metabolism. Lunch is also extremely important, dinner not so much. Or you could obviously eat a few smaller meals per day as long as you start with breakfast. I eased my way into healthy eating as well. I started off big and not-so healthy for meals. I gradually replaced items until I got used to eating healthy everyday.

Exercise! Half an hour a day 5 days a week. It doesn't have to be strenuous either. Shooting basketball around (as long as you're at least jogging for the rebound) is good enough. Personally, I had a stationary bike and would ride that while playing video games. Before you knew it, 30 minutes were up and I had burned somewhere between 400 and 600 calories.

Don't smoke and don't do drugs. What good is being healthy and having a much better weight if your insides and brains are fried? It's not like you can't party, but just do it much less. Oh, and restrain from eating fast food. This will help you in two ways.

1. You will eat healthier.
2. You will learn how to be a better cook. And ladies...not just **** buddies, but ladies you can marry....love a guy that knows how to cook.

Hope this helps!

^Good advice, although I would like to advise that the "calories in vs. calories out" is an antiquated and inaccurate way of estimating and regulating weight loss. Otherwise though, spot on.

Lots of water, and lots of green vegetables to fill your stomach in terms of volume=win

You can still have a little of the other stuff, but filling your belly with pasta and chicken wings is not the way to go, obviously

Lots of water, and lots of green vegetables to fill your stomach in terms of volume=win

You can still have a little of the other stuff, but filling your belly with pasta and chicken wings is not the way to go, obviously
Thx for the advice guys, I've been slowly getting better about a few little things, just gotta start putting it all together!

Hehe, well I haven't done any coke in >2 months now and ~2 months ago is when my partying bill just stopped being a ridic amount of money so maybe you're onto something there . The other reason it's gone down is some of the other guys are over going to HK a lot (as am I), and ive become friends with one of the HK girls and she hangs out with me outside the club because she wants to, so you put all that together and the partying expense just isn't that high anymore :P

Yea what daddyrnac suggests is definitely a good idea, it just takes time mostly. I used to get super frustrated when I would have a -1k day at 180s but after grinding $100 hypers for a while and going on a huge mtt downswing, nothing really bothers me anymore.

I don't really have any suggestions persay because I don't have this problem, but not looking at results for a week is definitely a common thing I've heard, and I'd assume it works if you follow it

Got lawl_crushed yesterday, but due to happen with how good I've run lately so it's w/e. I ended up having a halfway failworthy session with CaptainSerious, he tried to send me hh's over skype and they wouldn't transfer properly to my computer and wouldn't convert on any program like uni replayer. W/e though, think we still had a decent discussion and we looked over some spots together and I introduced him to the program I use to study with.

Gonna go meet live@pompeii for lunch at Mongolian in about an hour and then he's gonna borrow my car to do some errands, I'm planning on grinding most of the day.

Gla!
