Re: 10,000th Post: SNE 2012, Jdawg91 Style (+ more!)

Very inspiring thread! Best of luck J... I actually had a question for you. I finally got my bankroll up to a point where id like to start considering trying for SNGLeaderboard on Merge. If i were to play SNG's with buy-ins ranging from $5.50-$22 (40% 5's, 40% 10's, 20% 20's) in terms of volume, how many games do you think i would have to play/day in order to make a run at it? Your Sngleaderboard thread actually inspired me to deposit and build up a roll in order to give it a try. Any suggestions/advice you have would be greatly appreciated. And once again, best of luck with your SNE pursuit

Playing 100 games per hour with that mix would get you about 4,000 base points per hour (maybe slightly less). Half a million base has been the norm to ship the last two months with a 5 streak. You should hit a 5 streak once every 8,000 games. So if you run good enough to hit a 5 streak, 10,000-12,000 games should do the trick.

I assume you're going be playing the big Sunday Million next weekend. You selling shares for that?

GL getting out of your downswing. I know about running bad deep in MTTs, but all it takes is one tournament where no BS happens to make all back and more.

Really quick not wanting to derail. I see "card distibution" talked about does tha refer to being card dead?

For instance - you have a shove % from CO but the cards being dealt are not in that % thus no shove. Is this what you guys are talking about card distribution?

for example someone steals from sb 100% in certain spot, he has a6 and snap calls, guy turns over AT, or he shoves AJ from btn for 6bbs and BB snaps with AQ, etc

So basiclybasically "running bad in card distribution" means run bad which is not covered by the AIEV line imo

I agree, the RED LINE doesn't show enough of the story, doesn't take in account of getting all in, AK v AQ and guy spikes a Q and you are left with 50 chips.

Next hand you are dealt 7-2 but your red line only reflects this hand because your tournament ended with an all-in.

There isn't way of seeing RED LINE whenever you are all in?

Sigh, sorry again for the derail..

Woke up late today, kinda sucks cuz I basically get in lame volume any day I wake up past 6am. Doesn't really matter though because I'm waiting on my landlord to stop in with cleaning supplies for my maid + have to give her a check since they're leaving town til mid January tomorrow.

Very possible I play through the night into Saturday to get my schedule back on track, will depend on how I feel I guess. I'm not really worried, if I get to 200k I get there, if not, I dont. My backer keeps tellin me to take it ez in 2011, so obviously its not that important to him either

BTW, you're going to play 200,000 games in the next 12 months, the swings can get much uglier which you know, hold that head high. Nice volume, bra, keep it up.
Yup yup for sure, I just like to complain

Nah no selling shares for me. And yea for sure, large field MTT variance is insane, just gotta keep on truckin!

Yea my redline has looked pretty solid til this week when it dipped down during this downswing...but hey its a downswing so that's expected. My redline ROI over my sample is still 0.9% though which isn't that bad.

No this example is wrong, the EV line does take into account stuff like the guy spiking the Q OTR on you.

Yep pretty much, like in the short run CD can make your ev line look really really good or really really bad. If you run KK into AA 10 times in a session and don't cooler anyone back AA to KK, your redline is going to look really ****ty.

Obviously, it all evens out in the long run, I'm not worried about that, I just like to give a detailed description of my day usually, CD being a big part of the "story" :P.

Thanks -- Guess I never looked that closely to HEM in session, seemed to me the RED line only moved if/when busted out.

Thanks and GL...

Yea the card distribution run bad basically refers to when you made a really good decision, but your ev line is going to tank anyway. QQ into KK, AJ into AQ etc. You can make a bunch of good decisions but if your card distribution is awful your redline will go way down and make you feel worse. Got to be on the look out for the card distribution and also take the ev line with a grain of salt.

What kind of hard drive you work with?

I notice when I fire up too many tables, I get lag spikes, and I know you talk about lag all the time, are you sure it's not your hardware? (you always think it's either pokerstars of your ISP)

Also, Boku87, I believe use to play with no hud, I'm starting to wonder if it's because it'd be impossible to play with a hud for the amount of tables he plays.
