Hi GL dude! Just wanted to ask you do you still keep your 3-bet sizes from the blinds as 4x vs 2.5BB opens or have you gone bigger since then? To me it sounds smallish and with the ACR rake structure I would think going 12-13 BB vs 2.5BB opens and 10-12 BB against min raises makes more sense. You pick up more rake-free pots pre and give the IP villains the opportunity to flat wider than they should and they probably don't 4-bet wide enough anyways. Anyone any thoughts on what 3-bet sizings tend to work the best in these player pools?

Thank you!

Interesting point of view. When I am in position I am using 3x usually, and if I am out of the position I would go up to 10 BB. I am using big sizing when there is a 2.5 BB open and a call, I would go to 14.5 BB or 15 BB, specifically if I am out of the position.

I think someone else should give me a better option with more experience than me.

Anyway, here is the report from the tournament session from yesterday and today.
Yesterday I was out of my mind and went too much out of my bankroll, but went deep in one of the tournaments at the end, but didn't cash out enough to cover my stupid decision.
Today we played an early micro special, for $4 dollars, and took down 2nd place for $258.15, and that was the only tournament I played, and I played it while working.

Here is the history from yesterday:

I know this was a gamble and a huge mistake, but I was out of my mind and totally bored, and once I started playing the bigger tournaments I decided to keep going and maybe hit big.
I guess we got lucky today, but still, I played really well and lost a heads-up fight.

Current bankroll: $417.04
I will keep playing 10NL, and only 1-4$ tournaments, and we will give a shot at 25NL once we reach at least $500.00-$550.00.

The problem with ACR is that there is a small number of good $1-$4 tournaments, but we I will do my best to work on discipline and avoid this kind of risk.
It is hard to be disciplined when you are not living from poker money, and that small bankroll doesn't mean too much to me, but I will focus on the final goal that is at the moment too far away, but we are moving upppp!

You said in opening post that you want to quit your job when you reach 20k bankroll. I think you should think twice about that at least if it's hard to get a normal job back if you don't enjoy being full time pro. In poker you can have an edge but lose it later, you can get entirely bored with the game, other people might think of you as a total degen. It has good sides as well but those are few things to consider.

If you get normal job easily back then it's obviously basically freeroll shot taking.

I totally agree with you and it is nice to hear someone’s opinion or experience on how it looks like playing poker for living

I used the wrong word, I wasn’t bored, I lied, it would be better to say tilted.

When I go out of my bankroll, I get tilted easily, mostly busting tournaments and started entering more and more that day.

Day after I only entered one tournament and cashed it at 2nd place.

I have days when I played for 10-12 hours, I truly enjoy playing poker and don’t have any second thoughts about playing for living, but that tilt I have i something I am working on.

Purchased The Mental Game of Poker by Jared Tendler, and there is a person I am working with weekly. I started that last week.

I wish I could only play poker, but I can’t right now, and it is killing me that I can’t focus on grinding all day. Most days I am playing tired after work, or forcing it at late hours and having bad sleep since most of the times I have to wake up early.
