Hello folks, a friend and I made a bet, whether playing lowstakes PLO can provide an Okay living or not. Obviously in just a month there is a room for variance and not the highest amount of volume possible, but who wants to waste their time proving this for like 6+ months. That is why we dicided to go on 1 up to 2 months. If the player was to run bad he could extent the Challenge for one more month, but the overall end result has to meet the agreed upon goals. If there is serious crushing going on, with a strong hourly that exceeds expectations after like 25 days over the minimum volume, that would count as a win.

There will be some HHs and Screenshots of the results later on. We diceded that only 4 Card will be played during this bet. The other variants are a much to crazy when it comes to variance. Games played have to be below PLO50. Starting roll will be only 1000, which is not much, but there is one possible reload of the same amount if it starts bad and the same goes for the possible second month, if needed. The point is not to grind up a roll but to make a solid hourly one could live on. We agreed it should not be an infinite roll to rely on either.

The goal is to make between 12-20$/h. Surely it depends on the country you live in but probably it is possible to live on this hourly in the vast majority of countries around the world. So if the hourly would be below 12$ the Player loses the Challenge. We thought this might be kind of interesting to some of you, because usually stronger players move up in stakes, but there most likely are serious semi professional grinders or even bots (?) at lowstakes too, nowadays ... For fun lets add a little poll to this, see what you guys think.

Anyway, it starts tomorrow and we will see what happens. Would be interesting to know what some of you think, if it is easy or not? On a last note, player usually plays lower part of Midstakes Online and up tp 5/10 live.

Cliffs:

- starts Sept. 19th
- minimum Hands played: 50.000
- minimum Hourly to win the Bet: 12$
- one month extension possible

Rake

Rake is so disgusting it deserved it's own line. Are you getting a lot of this rake back or playing on a low rake site? And are rakeback and other rewards being calculated into this or does only winnings at the tables count? Since I don't know your answer to rakeback and rewards yet, let us just use winnings. Round number are nice to start out with. Let us say the gold standard is 10bb/100. That is 100 hands. If you play 1,000 hands a day then you are winning one buy in a day. If you are instead a 5bb/100 winner and play 1,000 hands a day then you are winning half a buy-in. And lastly, if you are a 2.5bb/100 winner and are playing 1,000 hands a day then you are winning a quarter of a buy-in a day. Adjust the hands per day to make the math work based on your bb/100 and see if that many hands per day is even possible on one site or across multiple sites if you need to be doing 2,000+ hands a day.

I voted yes for $12 an hour, with some huge conditions like a hell of a lot of rewards added on to crushing the micro/stakes because you already know how to play the game and can skillfully click buttons mass tabling.

Ah yes was so obvious to me that Rakeback counts to the hourly I apparently forgot to mention it?! Other rewards do not count, like hitting a bad beat jackpot or some special races (99% there is no special promo running anyway)
