Hey everyone,

Wanted to start a new thread (I gave up on the last thread). This time I will keep a shorter time frame (1 month) and to make it more challenging I set myself a goal of $1K profit. I know the problems with setting a monetary goal but it helps me get excited about it. I think I can set daily 'process' goals as well alongside, and it should all be fine.

Have decided to start this lately as I have played very little this month, and realised that poker is one of those hobbies I enjoy, so I would like to take it more seriously again.

I will be playing a mix of 25NL and 50NL. Current bankroll is around ~$850.

Here's the graph from today's session at 25NL.

And also here some poor volume graph for the month at 25NL.

'Process' goals:
- Post update every week (minimum)
- Play at least 10K volume per week
- Review unsure/blunder hands after every session
- 1hr daily study on GTO Wizard
- daily meditation
- gym 4x per week

Good luck, if you can stick to those goals you will progress very fast

Decided to do a mid-week update of the challenge. So far not so good, results wise. I am happy with my progress, I feel like my game is improving by reviewing hands daily and studying on GTO Wizard. I feel very comfortable in the 25NL pool (although maybe biased because of results), but frankly feel like the 50NL pool is not much different with plenty of recs in the games. Having said that, the regs are obviously better. I think I will keep grinding 25NL to rebuild the roll for the rest of the week, and maybe mix 1-2 tables of 50NL on the weekend if the games are extremely good.

Here's the 25NL graph since the start of the challenge.

Here's the 50NL graph since the start of the challenge.

Here's the combined graphs.

I also had this hand which I wanted to check with somebody since GTOWizard ranges don't get to this spot with AKo. Am I meant to check range on the flop, or small % of cbets are part of the strategy? What is our strategy meant to look like on the turn? I feel like Kc>Ac for barrelling on the turn. Any ideas?

Week 1 completed.

Results have been really poor obviously. After my mid-week post, the 25NL and 50NL graphs kind of reversed (which I guess is good for my br). Yesterday and today were the worst sessions so far with 7.5 buy-ins loss and 3 buy-ins loss today, all at 25NL. I was particularly disappointed in the session yesterday where I could have saved 3 buy-ins if I didn’t spew/make exploitative folds. I ended up playing 1/3 of the volume at 50NL because of the games being better than 25NL during those times. Very happy with the volume I played, hopefully I keep it up throughout the rest of the month.

In terms of goals I am happy that I reviewed hands every day either before and/or after a session. Studying spots has been poor. Only managed to say study for a total of 2 hours this week. The one goal I was more dissatisfied with is meditation (only twice this week), where there is really no excuse to not do it. At least I hit the gym 4x this week.

So goals for next week:

[ ] Daily meditation: This is priority number one, as I think it’s such a simple and short practice that will improve focus at the tables and help with tilt.

[ ] Play >10k hands: I will focus on 25NL this time as my bankroll is smaller now, but if I run good then will keep mixing 50NL tables when the games are good.

[ ] Reviewing hands: Keep reviewing hands as I did this week. This hasn’t been an issue so far.

[ ] Studying: I will reduce the number of hours to 4 per week to make sure I hit the goal this time. In the future I will look to increase this number.

[ ] Gym: Keep hitting the gym 4x per week.

[ ] Posting: Keep posting at least weekly updates.
