I don`t do a lot of tripling off v whales, but this combo seems fine. priority bluffs in this spot I think like to block both straights and flushes, but 1h offsuit broadway is not enough. River we are obv v polar, blocking 69 is nice, and this is almost complete bottom as I don`t think we`re supposed to double barrel weaker sc on turn not containing a gutter.

I think I c/f this hand everywhere starting on the flop. Some really weak backdoors here and you turn a bad oesd where you only want the bottom. It kinda starts with betting this on the flop.

River I guess I'd bluff.

ty for dropping in and sharing your thoughts

good points guys

yeah- I like being a maniac in all these small pots as it’s really good for my bottom line in plenty of ways when we get super deep

v folds

34 easy call IP against crazy whale, why scare him off. Calling practically any river, not really worried about too many cards killing our action against a spazz. Nice to bink the turn tho. I would want to fold pre but that's me.

Productive Poker Hours 9/20-9/26: 92

grinded insanely hard this past week and cut back on pio. Lost several more 3k+ pots than I won but better for it. Mostly just coolers/bbv so they don’t get posted up

the goal is to crush high stakes live after all- have to optimize my online grind accordingly (super deep, w straddles, and vs lots whales preferably). grateful I have the opportunity to do so

small stakes online grind going much better though lol
———

400nl line check

Main V (EP) is nitty reg type.

Next to act is a rec.

LP is a reg.

Hero has an active image.

$820E~ w Main V. $875E~ w MP.

OTTH

Pre-flop: utg posts $4. Main V opens $20 EP. next to act calls. LP overcalls. Hero 3b btn $90 w A K. Everyone calls.

Flop ($370): 6 4 2. Checks through.

Turn ($370): 6 4 2 A. Main V b $185. LP calls. Hero overcalls.

River ($925): 6 4 2 A 4. Checks to hero, who jams $600E.

thoughts?

im not sure about pre, I used to sqz super large (like $140~ in this spot) but not sure I’m in love with that IP anymore for a few reasons

Super multi-way pot so will save any descriptions.

This five way pot is a function of everyone being super deep (albeit less so with the straddle).

Hero has $2790, covering main villains.

OTTH

Pre-flop: Hero straddles $8 utg and has 10 8. EP limps. MP overlimps. Reg iso $40 MP. btn calls. Hero overcalls. EP calls. MP calls as well.

Flop ($208): 7 6 5. Hero checks. Checks to btn who bets $80 off of $2200.

What are you clicking AP?

pre seems straightforward, will be calling wider than this in the straddle w multiple deep stacked recs involved and than not piling in money post too often unless we get a flop like this.

very likely multiple people smashed this flop so just calling and re-evaluating made sense to me in game given the high SPR as well.

Hero calls. unknown v, doesn’t seem to be putting too money in, x/r to $460 next to act leaving $455 back.

Folds around to btn, who is fairly splashy. Doesn’t seem afraid to put several hundred bb in whenever w whatever. probably thinks bottom set is the nuts in this spot if he has that

What are you doing if btn calls. How about jams 2.2k? Hero covers.

Going to utilize equilab after discussion if any

I was planning to click fold if BTN raised and call if BTN called. Will have to do some analysis on the spot. Think it’s v important to think about these things in HH review even if they don’t happen

BTN folds

hero puts other v AI given only $455 back after the $460- who calls 7 7 and scoops on K K runout

btn claimed JJs in the chat fwiw

didn’t expect v to fold to the x/r often, interesting that we do have FE vs him if V calls the $460 and we backjam.

ty sir

hope you’re doing well

actually on my largest ds ever heading into my first wsop but feelsgood to be able to drop 10k+ and keep at it w 100% everyday nevertheless given we were whaling it up at micros not too long ago

will be nice to experience the same level of perseverance w 100k+ and then eventually 1M+ downswing

Main V super aggro pre flop, didn’t really have a great feel for V’s postflop play. Likes to attack weakness

$800E~

OTTH

Pre-flop: Straddle $8. Main V opens $24 MP. Next to act calls. Hero sqz $90 w Q J. Main V 4b $198. Hero calls IP.

Flop ($434): Q 4 3. V c-bet $143. Hero calls.

Turn ($720): Q 4 3 K. V jams $460.

I’d imagine V 4B something like 99s+, ATs+, KJs+, AJo+, KQo+ in addition to plentyyy of random stuff- so pre seems like a straightforward call IP here assuming that ranging is not too far off.

We do find ourselves in a weird spot though ott. Think we have an ez call on non A/K turns vs this V

trip reports will be on a delay so thought a quick post made sense

will probably not post any online HHs in the meantime and keep the focus on the trip

suggestions are welcome

plan is to play a mix of 2/5 and 5/10 and document my grind in a lot of different rooms

not sure about the donkaments beyond the reunion (tomorrow morning!)

the tourney/life/vegas fish in me came out before even being dealt a hand lol

for ex paid a $18~ fee on a $500 buyin just to use a debit card (avoid an extra line)

just happy to be here! lfg

there’s one for the rewards card and then another for the vax clearance (even if you did the app stuff)

didn’t stand in the registration one but apparently a few hours

absolutely +EV, just poking fun at myself for having no clue

hope that didn’t come across the wrong away
