Ok, I am going to set myself a challenge for this month to get a gold star and hopefully get up a level in the 18 man turbos on stars.

Background - been playing poker for maybe 10 years on and off. Never really taken it seriously, I have been a recreational player.

I hadn't played in some months now. Loaded up stars and I had $38 in the account. I then went through my HEM database to see what game I at least have turned a profit in, this turned out to be the £1.75 18 man turbos.

In about a week I have run it up to 100 buy ins. I know I was horrifically underrolled, but fortunately I did not hit a downswing.

My plan is to grind out enough games so I hit gold star and turn a profit for the month. I have never had higher that a silver star previously.

I plan to stay at 100 buy ins, I will play 10 games at the same time, but I will incremently add games as my bankroll advance towards 100BI for the next level, for example:

$175 - 100BI $1.75 x 10
$192 - $1.75 x9, $3.40 x 1
$209 - $1.75 x8, $3.40 x 2
$226 - $1.75 x7, $3.40 x 3

etc etc until $3.40 x 10, then I will start working towards the $6.50 level.

I will convert my fpps to T$ via the 210fpp 20 mans, or maybe the 280 6 mans, however I have not played the 6 mans before, so I will have to see.

I intend to put in a lot of volume with these as I have 2 weeks of work and I am pretty much broke lol. I will reset my hem and update hopefully at the end of every session.

These things are so rediculous!?! People will actually call a shove with anything. At this stake I am really trying to pick my spots carefully as villian can't even fold out anything. I have had my shoves called with 23o, 75o etc. Obviously any ace is called. I had some idiot call his whole stack on the bubble with nothing but a draw yesterday. He hit obviously.

91 games since I started and I am 3 BI under.

Absolutely horrible session. Suckout after cooler after suckout.

It's funny cos you read about ICM but at this stake it seems you can't put anyone on a semi-accurate calling range, because there isn't one.

The good news is I am 100 vpps away from silver star, 100 vpps away from my next stella reward and I have about 600 fpps.

Also, there is going to be a change of plan from what I mentioned previously. I will not be adding $3.40s until I get 80BIs. I will just add couple more tables in the interim.

Time for bed now. Hopefully have some better luck tomoz.

Im doing 1.75 9 mans, and you do find idiots who call with absolute nothing. But they pay you off in future with more volume you play. The way to look at it is if you could see there whole cards and you shove, you would want them to call with the worse hand.
