Making up for a series of losses slowly while concentrating on work. Ended up winning a few session in a row including last night. Less than I could have won yesterday due to an unfortunate beat in 5-5-5-card with ss AA v. some utter garbage V went with for $1,500 because he thought me and third V were blocking each other. Then took a shot at 10/25 game in the back "salon" room and lost a little. Nice to get some experience. I've played the 5/10/25 several times so it wasn't entirely new. Got paid for work, which was nice. Home game tonight.

Up $600 something. Most from 5/10, a loss at 2/5. I’m feeling increasingly over 2/5, much like I felt about 1/3 when I started transitioning to 2/5. Goal: play with Jennifer Tilly!

Up $600 5-card waiting for 5/10, down $800 something there. No big hands, lost with marginal ones, except got KK which chopped v A7o AI pre. Miffed. It’ll be ok though.

Up and down in 5/10, ended up losing a little. Last several hours was just unremarkable blinding out, absolutely no playable hands. Pfft. Yawn! Played rather well though.

Set another record yesterday, and not a good one. Around $2k loss. Played 5/10, lost $450 there (KK cracked in 3! multi-way pot), lost some at 2/5 ($300), then played 5/5 4-card PLO for a while and ran bad against maniac, $1,200 loss there. Made one crucial mistake against him (rather than jam flop I raised leaving me an awkward size behind that I didn't stick in on a sorta bad turn, allowing me to get bluffed).

KK at 5/10: mediocre player opens UTG, call, call, me BB $185 KcKh, everyone calls. $1,900 eff. with UTG, $900 the other two.SB is tilted and spewy. QT4ss flop, SB open rips $900, I call, UTG re-jams for my last $1k, folds to me and I cry call it off. Very awkward spot being sorta committed but also not because we are multiway. But can never fold against tiled SB, just got trapped. (UTG had TT.)

Posted a small, maybe $50 loss, yesterday. Nice not to lose big!

Another bad session at 5/10. The run good is definitely over. I lost KK v. QQ AI pre in 5! pot (-$500), 99 v. AQo SB v. BB, lost both runouts (-$500). Some usual blind losses too and cbet/misses. -$1,400. Sad Dumbo. Running bad, I then got shown a bluff and V proceeded to start dancing in his chair. (We do not have a good rapport otherwise/we are not friends.) I mucked angrily and walked over to him so he could hear (plexiglass) and told him not to pick on me. The floor was called. I excused myself from the game to play 1/3. He later came over and apologized to me. I accepted his apology as he is a massive spewy whale and I can't wait to rip it in his face next time. (Oh, and I would have stacked him in that 3! pot with KK the other day when he open ripped $900, but someone else flopped a set.)

I keep thinking this is so unfair, why can't I have my big break and have a $5k or $10k session, a $20k month? All these fun players win big in single sessions. Then I remember that I am a winner but it's not as visible. I've been winning for nearly three years. Just not at the moment. Plus this was the first month I played 5/10 full time, and I am still up, albeit not a whole lot. I should give myself a break and not be so self-critical. Most people don't move up this quickly anyway. May need to go back to 2/5 for a while...I have learned a lot at 5/10 (a lot that will probably hurt at 2/5), but some that will certainly help.

Oh, and the out-of-state reg infestation has begun. Borg regs galore. They are mostly unpleasant/antisocial so far, some are friendly though.

A little promo rungood lately - two lucky table's, one for $500, last night for $300 (at 4-8 limit lol). Only played 4-8 for promo as no wait, while waiting for other games.

5-card opened up after a little uneventful 1/3, lost first 4! pot with ds AA with top set v. 5-high flush draw. But then won next one. Lost the third 4! ds AA against KT72x on 7-4-2r, then got angled and was called for 5/10 where I promptly got stacked QQ v. AKo AI pre (V, a visiting Borgata reg, ran it once). With promo made a little on the night. Pfft!

Lost a 60/40 at 5-5 5-card then made some at 1/3 and 2/5, brought a buy in to 5/10 where I lost a little. Small loss on the day. Been getting angled lately. V min-raises otf, says "oh I thought he bet that much," x/rips turn. Different V bets river, I jam for a little more, V exposes cards face up (a clear bluff - 6-high) and I muck, V says "he mucked, I showed my cards so I win the pot!" (not jokingly) and savvy dealer tells V he in fact mucked after I jammed, so I win.

Ha, pretty sure rock bottom would be 2/4 Limit. Do they even have that any more? Our room hasn't tabled a Limit game in ~8 years.

Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas still had 2/4 limit last time I was there in November.

Closer to DT, Borgata regularly got both 2/4/6 and 3/6 pre-COVID, and Trop had some 3/6 occasionally. So did Bally's/WWW, but I think that room was closing pandemic or no.

Sadly, I misspoke earlier: it WAS 2/4 limit!

Upon further review, it was 2/4 blinds but betting 4-8. So is that higher stakes limit? Lol.

That's 4/8. 2-4 Limit is 1-2 blinds with $2 bets first two rounds and $4 bets last two rounds.

Why does the tilted unpredictable player always have it against ME (but no one else) lately? I’m glad I ran as well as I did the first half of the month because the last two weeks have been complete hell.

Open ATcc CO, tilty calls SB, two other callers. T45r. $30, tilty calls, turn K. X/x. River A. Tilty jams I snap ($130) he has 44. For real? This is the same V who oversetted me with AA in a 4! Pot when I had KK. Like ... seriously? This guy is getting it in with way worse and bluffs at a very non-zero frequency.

Ended up a slight loss - $50 or so. Made it back at 1/3 with QJ v way overplayed AK on 9TK. Then 3! AK in straddle to $150 and got some looks like I was crazy. V folded TT. He was nice enough to show so I did too. “He plays AK like that?” came from the other side of the table. Fun to play 1/3.

Absolutely owned this guy’s soul at 2/5. As soon as I sat down he seriously asked the dealer if I had enough chips on the table for a min buy in. Bad mistake, old man. I iso’d this regfish every opportunity and river called him with AhTs high on 3s45sJ8s, then bluffed his shoes off with QJ on 6QTK6 raising river against his Kx when my Q was no good, I’m pretty sure. Don’t pick on dumbo.

Made a few hundo, played short-handed 5/10 with a couple tougher regs and did fine. Funny, some regs I am up on and others down on. I'm actually mostly up on the ones I thought were better than me.

Running poorly. Got 4! jam bluffed off the best hand pre short handed, then AA cracked by 98o on K8T78 at 1/3. At least I have a paycheck now, so even when running this bad I have an income.

Did OK at 1/3, then 2/5 GII KK v. QQ and 55 AI pre for $230 and lost to 55. Then lost QdJc on TdQKdAd to J8dd against a bad station who donked large ott. I thought I was freerolling him so I jammed for $300. Oops. Nothing is going my way! Stuck close to $500 again. :/
