If you're used to staying up late playing video games or sleeping in the middle of the day during classes like most people then jetlag feels like waking up after a good night's sleep.

lots of love of course

Spoiler:
haha soudn about right except for the second part. ive never been able to sleep during daylight, just a mental block of mine. but I started today by napping between 530 and 7 and felt great when I woke up. had to cover my window completely with a black blanket to cut out all forms of light, but I plan on doing that in my new house when I move anyway. Tonight I will be sleeping 2:30-6:30 and then waking up for a nice early morning run. let hell begin.

also if this turns out to not be too bad of a transition, Ill hopefully be able to squeeze out atleast 45k hands this month, which should secure my palt. Also the last 10-20k hands have been good for me. starting to play really solid again. Ive been kind of playing off my ususal A game for the last 50k-100k hands and variance has also contributed, but Im still up and hopefully ill be able to continue that through this month! the $300 a month rakeback is def helping hehe.

hands:

this should be +ev with how rediculously wide his range is, since I have a TON of FE. call pre isnt the greatest but Ive been experimenting with lighter 3bet calls pre IP vs shortstackers, with some decent success

Haven't heard from you in a while. Too busy crushing the games to talk?

Shove with KQ. Pairs are a large majority of his range and if he's calling them then you have enough equity to get it in, if he's folding them then have enough fold equity. Calling is reasonable as well since you can bet or raise a lot of turns for the same reason.

UPDATE!! its been so long haha , I wont be putting up hands until tomorrow, when Ill start regularly updating again on my progression. I took a month off ish, and by ISH I played 20k hands instead of a more normal 40-60k hands.

here is my month, 16k hands now but i have a couple days to pump em out and i like to round up xD.

been running pretty good after a few solid months of runbad at 50nl. I am now only 2.5bi down at 50nl pre rb and running 3 bi under ev (coming back from a horrible 18 bi down at 16bi under ev) so its a nice change of pace!

also here is a look at my almost total cash game progression since starting in cash approximately one year ago this month!

there is about 100k hands missing from 10nl on merge/stars (pt3) and a bit of 6max on ipoker, and maybe 100 in profit missing? this is all pre rakeback of course, and I have probably come close to doubling this thanks to my recent gold/platinum grind months giving me some solid rb.

Luckily poker is starting to come together for me, and my next (and hopefully final) stake will be for 100nl full ring, which I will be starting in about 60k hands (end of my current stake) My game has never been better and I'm feeling very confident both with it and my understanding of the game and my continued progress in improving all aspects of it. I have overcome tilt issues, learned more than I can even seem to remember yet somehow pull out of my ass at the tables, and have become very optimistic about my future in poker

So I will start updating again for the rest of my 50nl stretch, and in even more detail as I make the transition from 50nl to 100nl, and hopefully to my own bankroll in the near future!

If the grind goes as planned, I will have a bit under 6 months to reach Supernova, which is still a goal of mine. This will be tight but if all goes well at 100nl and I stay there for the majority of it, I Will definitely have a good shot. 6 months is a long time to work on my game too so we will see if I go for it or decide to save Supernova for next year (obviously huge benefit if I can get it this year!)

so in 6 months I must grind 80k VPPs at 100nl haha

this means 13.3k VPPs per month

this means 45k hands per month

and that means SN can be very achievable!

this is vs a 68/14 fish over 50 hands, should this be a river bet for value and what size? I just have trouble finding the value in 2 pair type hands and I just miss bets it seems. I think this should be a solid 50% bet/fold to a raise, as there are a lot of worse hands he will call right?

definitely right, not sure how i missed that 3bet even when posting the hand up.

as far as river, id like to see the math done on whether or not it would be profitable to simply call vs a range of say AA,KK,QJ,AK,A3,77,33 (I really dont think he check raise bluffs a missed heart draw here very often, so I don't think it's worth including in a calculation)

my results so far this month

nothing crazy, quite low variance save the good session off the start and a couple unavoidable coolers along the way. I do have some hands for review though!

One thing I'm happy about is my ability to understand variance on a whole new level. This is thanks to my last couple months of hard grind and study as I fought through the end of a long downswing. I am now starting to let go of short term results and feel so confident in my game regardless of them. results are no longer bothering me and I really wouldn't even consider results under 100k samples as anything more than variance, good or bad.

I am really grasping the concept of good/bad play vs good/bad variance, which is helping me play better, longer sessions. I now know I am atleast decent/solid winner at 50nl and will probably have my easiest transition from it to 100nl over any level since. I can simply attribute this to the increase of my level of understanding. My tilt issues can be considered non existant for now (always gotta work on bettering that area of the game) but I am finally at the point where I may get annoyed or slightly frustrated over a bad beat/cooler/bad decision, but by the next hand I am over it and focusing on decisions. My tilt is currently not an issue in my game!

This leaves the following to grind out in theory for my game:

Postflop play (the key to being a solid winner)
mathematics (simply need to be better at my math)

luckily I picked up a ton of Janda videos recently to start the video grind

this month will entail:

[ ] 40k+ hands at 50nl
[ ] gold star rating at the very least
[ ] Watch 23 hours of Janda videos and soak in as much info as possible

The game is on so I will follow up this post on intermission with a post of 3-5 hands where I found myself having questions

I don't think you can stack off with TT, his range is probably something like KJs, QQ, 99. It's hard for him to 3bet bluff on that board since both of you hit so hard.

yea this hand was with Daniel sweating and we were thinking that range but also wondering AA/KK/JJ as possibilities too. we decided he only needed them such a small % of the time to be profitable since we had outs vs KJ. We figured 99 was a fold, so very close in terms of ev. hes doing the math so Ill show you when he shows me

been doing pretty good, 2.3bb/100 over 8k hands this month, 5bb/100 over my last 40k and making some decent profit! Will be bagging around 40k hands this month like planned unless I get a burst of grindage and can somehow make 60k. My game is improving every day, C game is coming along great, so thanks to the inchworm theory, I am simply getting better as I go. got into the first Janda series on betsizing and its pretty standard but quality info so far none the less!

SB bets $9.00, Hero calls $9.00

River: ($32.50, 2 players) T
SB checks, Hero bets $10.50, SB ?

only real interesting hand of the day.

We view his range as super wide here right? I don't see any straight where raising gets action enough to make it worth while. When he checks river I assume super weak and go small for value. He never has a good enough hand to bet big for value right?

villain is a 15/11 passive reg over 2.3k hands

I put him on any PP here really that decided to set mine pre and then take the pot on a semi wet paired flop, any flush draw that he decides not to bluff river with, and a few AJ type pure bluffs that he felt he couldn't 3bet pre yet doesn't want to give up on such a board (people will play a ton of suited hands this way like AJs or KQs)

therefore I bet super small to get a hate call out of the pairs.

If he jams what can we put him on? an AA-JJ spaz? does he ever ever check TT on river thinking we could bet? I guess only if he puts us on a PP like JJ-AA but most players would just barrel the river here after boating up no? if he jams it's a crying call for us right? he could show T7s or 78s I guess as I don't think he would jam a 7, but then I don't think he would ever jam worse anyway, nor would I expect him to ever have a jamming range in this spot ever a all anywho. anyway this has just been random thoughts lol

....

anyway if you read this far the had played out like this:

Spoiler:
He called and showed JTo... HA

This update has been long time coming! I started to drift away from updating this and even reviewing my hands as I started to win a lot. My volume was bad last two months, partially due to real life issues that are stressful, and partially due to coming out of a long downswing (For me) that caused me to end a lot of sessions early when up.

my last 42k (and last 2 months)

With the proper bankroll building up and my stake closing out I started transitioning to 100nl (only 2 table while I play 8 50nl tables, I have stuck to my 10-11 table max and have been rewarded for it)

My 100nl graph so far:

there's no doubt I'm running good, over my last 50k I'm winning about 13bb/100. I have also improved my game immensely and am confident I'm atleast a 2-3bb winner long term at FR, and I'm sure I will be able to carry that through 100nl to the higher stakes

Since I missed a lot of goals last month (40k hands and watching the Janda videos) I will be taking a step back and working on my organization. I have put off working out and grinding regularly thinking I would have a summer job by now, unfortunately that's not the case. So I am getting back on a proper lifestyle. No more 3-4am nights etc.

I will be in bed by 1:30am, up by 8:30am, done a workout by 9:30 am and grinding between 9:30 and 3:30 pm. I will go for atleast 1k hands a day, but since I won't be looking at my hand totals and just going by the hours, I should be able to pump out 2k hands a day for 5-6 days a week. On weekends I'll try to put that up to 3k, maybe more. Other days I will take a day off and relax my mind. so my new goals on a solid schedule:

[ ] Work out 6 days a week, no exceptions
[ ] 40k hands in july
[ ] Prepare to start fully playing 100nl for august
[ ] Keep this updated

Day 1 today was good, I pumped out 2.2k hands in less time than I thought I would, and decided to end at 2pm today to catch up on other things including this (I just got home from a weekend in Muskoka for Canada day!) I will post a couple hands from today later on, and will continue to do so for review every day that I play for this month!

villain is 22/14 54/58/59 AFQs by street, 88%, 78% f/t cbets, 40% river bet over 450 hands.

given his low fto 3bet stats, this hsouldve been a 3bet pre, but there may have been fish in the blinds I wanted to bring in. As played my hand is underrepped but I froze on river and folded. not sure if it was right. what would his betting range be on river? does he bluff enough to make this a profitable call?
