Finally an (involuntary be it) poker ambassador who isn't afraid to speak the cold, hard truth. Need I say more.

Finished reading the thread, amazing how it has turned out.

I keep hearing "he probably only had 10% of himself" ($100k).

Yet a year before he had 100% of himself in the $111k One Drop.

It's unrealistic to think he would have a $11k less this time, post a $1.5m Super High Roller victory. He said "it wasn't small" and some people thought it was "reckless".

Sounds like 20-30%, $3m-$4.5m.

Hi there Dan! I just came by to tell you that I am incredibly amazed by your work ethic and professionalism as a poker player.

From what I have seen I think you are the true professional poker player while most of the "professionals" (including me) are only half-professionals at best.

You not only play poker in a professional manner (i think you bring your A game most of the time at the tables) but you also live life as a professional.
I dont know you so I may be wrong but so far based on what I have seen I think you live a healthy, and conscious lifestyle. These are really unique attitudes (especially the conscious part) and I have tremendous respect for you because of these. I am pretty confident that you cut out at least 90% of the distractions in your life so you can avoid being derailed from the track of improvement in poker or in life.

I think this is the definition of a true professional.

I know that people do not like to idolize other people mostly because of ego reasons. They much rather like to pick on that 1% of bad when they could look at the 99% of good in a person who achieved a lot (and also learn from the observations). I think thats wrong. I think people should be respected and if need be idolized because of what they do/how they think/how they live. There is no shame in that.

I think people can only respect your work ethic and your level of consciousness in life and I definitely look up to you.

I wish you all the best in life,
RTT314

a lot of poker players suffer from arrested development since they became so successful at such a young age imo.

sick thread mrgr33n
was about to sleep but it's now 6am and I'm just over halfway in!

Really appreciate that you've answered a lot of questions here and some sound advice contained too.

Feel like I've learned a lot, and definitely excited to apply a few new things to my game, and shall be sure to rail!

Finally read this out, realise you may not use this thread anymore Dan, but seriously, I have a tonne of respect for you as a person.

I turn 21 on Monday, and I've been a huge degen for years.
Poker has taken a back seat for me now that I'm training to be a Primary(Elementary) teacher and I've reshaped my priorities in life.

I'm glad I saw that my potential was fairly low and poker wasn't a source of income for me, I'm glad and really appreciate what you've done, and that's to not glorify poker.

Will continue to play now and again for fun, and wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

feel free to shoot me a PM if ya ever need any non-poker related advice, or someone to gauge an opinion from.
