Around August 2010 a friend of mine "staked" me in a $10 tournament on PokerStars he joined but couldnt stay to play. I min cashed for him and he sent me whatever money was over the buy in, about 5 bucks. Over the months I managed to bring it up my current bankroll of about $700. In the beginning I was moving up at a really nice pace owning the $1.40 knockout sngs and making top 20 on the Battle of the Planets every week. But for the last couple of months I seem to have hit a brick wall where every session I end up only slightly up or down.

I mix tournaments, sngs, and heads up. Tournaments are fun but it drains you when you play for 2-3 hours and don't make final table to only win a few bucks. I am trying to consider my options as to what I should go on to play in order to move up again like I used to.

I am now trying to develop a motivational gameplan to get to 2k in the next 3 months.

Any advices are greatly appreciated.

Very doable goal, if you put your mind to it! I've done a $50 to $1000 sucessfully, so it is possible.

had my 1st winning session in a while. I multi tabled 13 $1.40 knockout sngs and got a $15 profit. Not much but its a start...

Hi, op just wanted to ask how you build it from $100... What did you played and what helped you out at the micros...

I played mostly $1 sit and go of 9 people or the 90 person (non turbo) sit and goes. As far as tournaments I do well in anything but hold em. I think the field are too big and the variance affects my play. I find smaller field tournaments more favorable. I managed to win a razz, triple stud, HORSE, HOSE, and stud tourneys which have helped pad my bankroll. My best game imo is PLO8 which I cash in a lot but never managed to win one yet.

Oh, and I suck at cash games. I managed to lose about $250 along the way tilting my way in cash tables. Never again.

Just had a great session. cashed in 8 out of 9 sngs. I hope I could keep running this hot and get top 10 in battle of the planets.

I finally managed to win a big NLHE tournament. I won just about any other type of tourney besides that. It had 874 entries but was just $2. Good for another $280
