I have recently returned to online poker grinding after taking a complete break for almost 4 years. I started playing Sit and Gos in the early 2000s and built up a good bankroll where I transited to cash game after Black Friday. Due to changes in my personal life as well as restrictions to play poker legally in my country, I played poker sporadically and recreationally in the 2010s and only resumed serious grinding and studying since August this year.

Not willing to deposit a single cent into my GGpoker account, I decided to just try my luck in the daily freerolls and had alot of successes in the "Spin and Gold". Eventually, I managed to build a bankroll of 5 BIs for 2nl Rush and Cash. I was extremely lucky at 2nl Rush. I managed to go on a good run to build a bankroll for 10nl. I decided to skip 5nl as I feel that me winrate at 2nl will be much better (I could be wrong but that's how I felt when I took shot at 5nl).

Having been away from poker for so long, I quickly realised that poker has become much tougher and in order for me to move up to 10 nl, I need to learn GTO. GTO would provide me with the foundation to eventually move up the stakes and hence, mid way through my 10nl journey, I decided to subscribe to GTO Wizard and painfully and slowly analysed my hand histories from the perspective of GTO.

In the mean time, I continued to add on to my bankroll any winnings from the Daily Freebies and Daily Leaderboard to eventually build a bankroll for 25nl. I remembered I only had close to $600 when I took shot at 25nl and within 2 weeks, decimated my bankroll to just around $200+. I should have gone back to 10nl but stubbornly stayed at 25nl as I felt that I was playing ok and prayed that the variance would go my way soon. In the mean time, I doubled my study effort, reduce my playing time and studied at least 3-4 hours for every 1 hour of poker I played.

Luckily enough, the poker god decided to be kind and eventually went on a good run. I had also hit the "Bad Beat Jackpot" for an additional $1.3k+ to my bankroll.

This is my current bankroll.

Plans for the near future:

1. Play at least 150k hands at 25nl before moving up.
2. Spend at least 1-2 hours per day studying and beefing up my theoretical understanding over the next 2 months.
3. Once I fulfiled (1) and (2), I will then move up to 50 nl (Provided I still have at least 50 BIs).
