really close turn decision (150 NL live)
Hero (UTG+2):$140 - Has J4c
Villain 1 (HJ): $87
Villain 2BB) $190

Preflop: I raise to $7 (standard), HJ calls, BB calls. (Pot=$22).

Flop: comes 9c3c5s. BB check, I check, HJ bets $10, BB calls, I call after thinking for about 20 seconds.(Pot=$72). Ad comes off. BB checks, I bet $27, HJ pushes for $70, BB folds, $43 to me.

My only history with the guy is busting him with AA when he called a huge PF bet from me with suited broadway cards, flopped a flush draw and no pair/straight draw, and I busted him after he pushed from position.

So basically I can pay $43 to win $212. I put HJ on Aces up or A2 or A4 but not AXc or he would have bet more on the flop ($17-$20).

I called largely because I knew it was close and I wanted to either bust and go to the bar or win a nice pot.

What do you do? Put the other $43 in with 13 outs given the various possibilities for counterfeited outs?

Why is your standard play to raise shlt hands from early position against shlt players who never fold?

Would love to know based on your OP how the pot is $72 after the flop. It was $22, then $10x3.

Even if this weren't wrong, your $43-to-win-$212 math still would be. It's $43 to win what is in the current pot, you don't add the $43 you're calling to the mix. You'd be calling $43 to win "$72"+$27+$70, which is $169.

In actuality, it's $43 to win $149, because you added the $20 incorrectly to begin with.

On top of this, I'm impressed with your poker skill that enables you to put someone on a flopped wheel draw but rule out a flopped flush draw.

Finally, you don't have 13 outs, clean or otherwise. It's 12 outs. There are 9 clubs, and 3 non-club 2's that you can hit. You can't count the 2c twice.

You did get the "it's close either way" part right.

LMAO.......... I'm crying from laughter. This is priceless.

as an aside, Hero made the worst decision possible on all streets of the hand. As played you might as well just call just to punish yourself. But seriously, as played I would call.

I like the raise in EP with J4 because when the flop comes JJ4 no one is going to put him on J4.

Fold pre your in a 150nl game. People dont fold your not durrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. why did you donk bet the turn. As played I call. This is why TV poker is bad for you game if you dont understand poker. On high stakes poker there 300+bb deep compared to your 70bb deep. you shouldnt even be playing j9c with 70bb in early positon
