We finally get to see some graphs with weird swings and not just straight printing money. It would be awesome to see a graph for some of the crazy degen losers in our games. I realize that data doesn't exist.

You really do wonder exactly how much money the losers at this game lose over a lifetime. I wonder how startling it is?

^All you have to do is check out Gus Hansen's hspokerdb page.

Seriously though, a guy i play with somewhat regurlarly told me he had to sell his mercedes CLS to fund his poker losses for the year. He plays 1/2 about twice a week . It's kinda disturbing.

I'm guessing every decent size poker room has at least 1 guy like that.

Wow that's sad. I play in a pretty large room & I would say there are at least 5 guys (if not more) that fit this bill. If they actually kept track, they would probably stop coming. Or maybe some of them wouldn't. Nearly 100% of these guys are losing huge at other games too...

Lose $100 Every week in poker?
You're a degen.

Go out drinking 2x a week and spend $100? You're social.

Give $500 to charity and you're a great human being, spend $500 on Charity and you're a dirty pervert.

I suppose that really depends on one's income. That being said, there are a lot of degenerates losing a lot more money than that even at the lowest levels.

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

I've seen plenty of guys that regularly dust off $400-600/night a couple times a week month after month. Sometimes they run it up to a $2k stack and get super pumped that they cash out up. Sometimes they run it right back down to $0 in an orbit.

None of them track it, none of them seem to think about the total cost too much, and most selectively remember the big wins. There are a few that disappear for a while here and there though. But the biggest donators are the ones that don't even feel the losses. It's like the guys that go and play $50/hand blackjack. They don't mind playing $50 or $100/hand poker.

I've actually thought about tracking some of the ones that play in my local home games. Maybe one day.

1500 is crazy for having a FT job. Good on that dood. I was similar in the 12 months before I quit my job. 1134 hours from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 at my home casino. 21.8 hours a week.

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

2223 hours of 1/3 since April 2015.
9.3bb/hr aka $27.80/hr.

Hoping to one day get back to 10bb/hr, but the winrate is hard to budge these days.

Very impressive, imo.

My first 2000 hours were very similar.

A few hundred hours short of my next 2000 hours, which have not been quite as impressive (to say the least).

I could only imagine my volume if I didn't have to work 40-50 hours/week. Or maybe I would just play more ideal times instead of "whenever I can get there." I'm sure I would (maybe still will) get burned out at some point. Anyways, good luck to you!

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

I haven't played in a month and that is looking like it's gonna continue because people at my casino are rude as **** to me and it just isn't worth dealing with. Here's my graph for the year. Hopefully someday I can come back to casino poker.

-$869 2/5/10 NLH
+$6403 2/5 NLH
+$2456 5/10 NLH
+$5150 5/0 PLO
+$250 1/2 NLH

But it has nothing to do with the 1500bb downswing you're in. Right?

Went back to work in August only playing 1x a week now so probably won’t set a PR in 2017 unless these next 4 marathon Saturday’s go well.

Certainly doesn't help, it's easier to put up with peoples **** when they're giving you stacks of cash.

<News flash>

People in your casino arent rude to you. People are just rude in general. Get them in front of a computer keyboard or in the drivers seat of a car and its anything goes.

1/2NL: +£22,831, 677 hrs. £33.71/hr, 16.85bb/hr.

I've improved so much playing live in one year it's ridiculous, overtaking some pros that have played live for near a decade. Never thought that was possible but you get so much time to think each and every spot through constantly until you're happy you've 'solved' it.

My biggest regret in life is not trying live poker years ago. Better late than never though.

Great results NeA but stay modest and hungry. 675 hours isn’t much.

fwiw I believe ranma is a girl so it's very possible she is treated more rudely than the average male playing poker.
