This is really nice work dude...do you have a 2/5 game available in your local room? Might want to start trying some weekend shots after you hit 12-13k at 500hrs and see how you fare. Looks like your worst downswing in 400hrs was about 10BI's which looks both very solid, and very standard.

Congrats!!

Teach me your ways!!! I spend $16 on a beer and a shot at the casino and don't even blink an eye. Just couple "reds" out the stack ya know!?

Also buy bottle service for friends at the club cuz...."it's like 1/3 a buy-in" who cares in the grand scheme of things...

Actually one of my brothers retired at the age of 28 but then he came out of retirement after having kids. They could all be retired by now but I'm the only one that has truly retired before the age of 40.

It depends what you consider boring. Not everyone needs to spend money to have fun. My oldest brother took 8 months of paid vacation one year to hike the Appalachian trail. His work hooked him up with all the extra gear he needed and that's a super cheap adventure because people that live on the trail hook you up with free food and lodging. I'm pretty sure the whole trip was just an excuse to do a hellacious amount of drugs. He also climbed the tallest mountain in Mexico and is in a band and is into all that burning man stuff.

My 2nd oldest brother climbed Mount Rainier (among other mountains) and does a lot of caving. My youngest brother is the one that had initially retired in his 20s. He and his wife had been traveling the country for a few years including living in Winter Park for a couple snow seasons allowing him to ski every day. Now he lives a typical married life with kids (would not wish that on anyone) and does things typical of any family in SE Texas I suppose (hunting alligators and such).

I bet those guys smoke a ton of weed

Good for them

Something useful so my post doesnt get deleted:

Never get into a mindset where youre walking into a casino and automatically playing the biggest game that your BR will allow you to play. If i could go back, id have stuck around 1/3 $500max games for a little longer than I did. Its just so much easier to play your Agame, not tilt, not worry about the swings/money, and just sit your ass in the ****ing chair and get hours in if you play over-rolled

90+% of players i play with play under rolled. Even i play under rolled like every day. But i know if i just dedicate myself to 1/3 deep games, id crush everyone and make $40/hr literally variance-free. Btw its really easy to beat the **** out of someone whos under rolled

You guys need to upgrade your idea of what food is. Though 500 may be on the upper end of what a single person needs it's not excessive. If you're someone who cares about your health then you want to be buying good quality food and good quality food is freaking expensive.

It's plus EV to switch from Walmart swill to high-quality fruits vegetables and meats.

You know what else is expensive? Processed foods and junk foods like cookies and frozen pizzas. My guess is that his grocery receipt has a lot more processed foods like Hamburger Helper than fruits and veggies from Tom Thumb

Yes... Yes, it is. Only way you're paying that much is if you're buying steak from a cow that got a handy from Taylor Swift daily.

Sent from my phone...oh wait nm.

Hmmm. Idk what you guys are eating, but $15/day on food isn't unreasonable.

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

I don't know if SE Asia food is cheaper/more expensive, and that's all great regardless. But it's besides the point. We should also realize "time = money", and yes obviously I know it's never a "direct" trade off, because it's not as if every moment we aren't spent cooking we're going to be playing poker winning $X/hr.

However, it's not as if somebody spending literally $5 more a day is splurging by any means, especially when that small amount is being spent to bypass the sometimes long cooking process by either eating out or buying easy-prep meals from the store.

I now have 25% of an acceptable roll. Likely putting in notice at work next week. Need to focus on volume and can't do that wasting 40 hrs/wk at a "job."
