My hourly rate for the last 19.5 hours was $249. Should I go pro? This was 2/5. Thanks

My hourly rate for 2.5 hours yesterday was -$800/hr. You want half my profits?

Going crazy on this guy because 1 guy is making that much proves what he's saying.

It's like when I say Carlos Beltran gets all of his RBIs when he's up or down 5 runs and it's the 7th inning or later and someone says "Don't you remember that 1 time 9 years ago he had the go ahead HR in the 8th against the Braves?" 1 clutch hit that you can recall in a 18 year career doesn't meet the threshold for clutch.

Not saying who's right and wrong but you guys aren't making the argument you think you're making.

Yes they are. If someone claims something is impossible, then only 1 case is needed to prove that it is not. Just because something is improbable for a vast majority of people does not mean it's impossible.

i know it's just an example, but carlos beltran is pretty much the definition of clutch (if it exists, anyway)

Damnit. I miscalculated my recent hourly. It was only $177 per hour for 27 hours. I am feel pretty ****ty. Not going pro.

Actually I skipped over it because he said his WR was around $40/hr which isn't 10bb/hr at all?

You saying it's being done and not offering proof doesn't mean a lot to me.

wow this thread is really bumming me out. Cuz my last eight thousand plus hours of winning at over 50 per hour at 2/5 are clearly not a large enough sample size AND I am destined to regress toward the mean and come back down to a MAX win rate of approx 25 per hour according to the perfessionalz in these boards. I hope I dont get my house repoed and wind up homeless...

This thread is already about a ~meaningless stat, but has really become stupid.

Believing online WRs relate to live WRs is a false premise; all conclusions which are drawn will be fallacious.

You can always come live in my basement.

Spoiler:
The women I keep chained up down there would probably love some company.

As mentioned earlier, some of the reasons the two venues don't compare are the visibly drunken idiots who are just pushing chips into the pot because they like to see the splash, people exposing their cards, people misreading boards at showdown, people sitting down who literally know next to nothing about poker.

Two nights ago, a lady sits into my game and buys in for half the max. Second hand at the table she gets to the river with bets going in on every street. I can tell by the way she handles her chips that she has never been at a poker table before. She min raises the river over a bettor and gets called. She hesitantly shows ace hi and asks dealer "I have a flush, right?" She thought four red cards made a flush.

She buys in again and that money lasts about five minutes.

Was in NOLA, a dude sat down next to me who just got out of jail and was high on a Molly.
The pot is 50 bucks, he bets 3 into it on the turn. A dude jokingly min raises to 6, and the guy on Molly folds. hahahaha That was pretty amazing.

Playing poker is the absolute last thing I'd want to do on molly.

I know he has this reputation somehow. Just like how people thought Jay Cutler was worth having until a few years ago. And people think Dwight Howard is useful enough to be a starter in the NBA. And Sabathia and Ryan Howard are worth $25million/year for some reason.

Lot of misconceptions out there.

Beltran's the Andre Johnson of baseball. Played forever, puts up stats every year, but everything is in blowouts or very early in games. When there's pressure he feels it and freezes. Never actually decides a game.

Cutler is a Joke. I'm a packers fan, and I love that guy!!! I hope he's a Bear forever. The leader of your time has to give a **** for the team to be good.

Ryan Howard (Phillies Fan here): Obviously not worth 25 mill... if he kept up his insane stats that earned him that contract then yeah. Still he's not complete **** even now.

fake. also this guy spelled perfessional with a z so don't listen.

Guys - 10bb/hr is possible but it's nowhere near as frequent as people on an anonymous internet forum posting unverifiable winrates claim it to be.

Sometimes on 2+2 you'd be lead to believe 10bb/hr is the benchmark for a good player, it's not. Not that many guys make that much because it's difficult, but they do exist I promise
