I play 2/5 usually. That was a private 5/5 game with a mandatory straddle that could be as big as you like and still live. i.e. 5/5/50 wasn't too uncommon.

The upswing started on 2/5, where I won 7k in a session. Then 4k at the above mentioned game. Then bang, bang -10k in two sessions.

Two brutal hands still keeping me awake at night. Coulda been all uptick...

yes 10k is more than enough for a 2-3 BI shot (i.e. one bad day of cards for shot taking and move down to replenish and rinse and repeat till u crush). and docs is in livonia and they have a 2/5 2 days a week. If you live NW of detroit it makes it a bit easier of a drive, more like 1 hour from you I would think. Also heidleburg in ann arbor on tuesday nights

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

Let's say you're an average player, fixing leaks over time...
If I were to grind 150-200 h / month, could I have losing months (due to variance) ? 200 h at 30 hands/h means 6k hands, online that's nothing...what about live ? I'm asking because If I can win double than a normal job, I'll start playing live as a part-time job...
£ 1/1 game

So if you played 1/2 full time you would earn six figures? Holy crap.

Where is this game and how do I sign up?

like i said that run was followed by a 70 hour breakeven run. I am sure I could live off 1/2 if i did it fulltime tho. The game is in Alberta, Canada, i posted more details in this thread https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...onths-1117486/

Is it possible to avg $20/hr at $1/$2 where the rake is $5 max + $1 BBJ if pot > $20. Max/Min Buyin $200/$60.

I don't play much live and was just wondering what the general consensus would be with regard to these conditions. I'm having a hard time avg $15/hr right now. Although it's with a small sample + I'm not always playing in prime hrs (fri/sat nights).

Its tough to have a 10bb hour winrate in any game. 5-7bbs is crushing imo.

What's a good sample size for 1-2 500 max?

I'm thinking at least 200 hours right before you get an idea of your hourly?

At $200 max BI and $6 combined rake?

$20+/hr? Only if you play on the weekend and table select the crap out of the game.

So then what would you say the min hours required to find out around what your hourly will be?

500 hours for someone that plays professionally during mostly weekdays is very different than someone that played 500 hours recreationally on the weekend.

Plus there are several other factors involved. For example, a 1/2 game with same BI and rake structure in a room with average of 2-3 games will be very different than a room with average of upwards of 10 games. Location is also important, if there are several casinos within short distance such as Vegas, then the game will also be more profitable.

Whether you can sustain $20+/hr or 10BB+ isn't as simple as comparing stake or calculate the number of hours played alone.

So your question isn't implying a fair comparison for the conclusion you want to make.
What? I'm not trying to make any conclusion lol.
If you think there is a difference for weekday play and weekend play when it comes to hours played to see an guesstimation representation of your hourly then why not just say both?

Obv play on the weekend will yield higher results, but what does this have to do with the ~number of hours to get your hourly?

You're telling me that 500 hours with mostly weekend hours will yield the same win rate as 500 hours with mostly weekday hours?

I mean I get it, you're special, but don't think that your result is a baseline of some sort.

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

God everyone on these forums is so defensive. Like every post is an attack.
I blatantly said "obv play on the weekend will yield higher results".

I guess what I'm asking is that, If 500 is the baseline hours to get your average hourly on weekdays why would it be any different than on weekends (regardless of the winrate being higher)? Because the variance would be lower/higher on weekday/weekend, so you'd need more hours?

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

Weekend win rate per hour is higher, and weekday is lower.

So if 400 out of the 500 hours are played on the weekend and 100 on the weekday, the win rate of that sample size will be higher than the opposite.

400 x 25 = 10000

100 x 15 = 1500.

10000 + 1500 = 11500, and 11500 / 500 = 23/hr.

100 x 25 = 2500.

400 x 15 = 6000.

2500 + 6000 = 8500, and 8500 / 500 = 17/hr.

It's just plain math, I don't get what you're asking.
