Post count has a linear correlation with skills, got it.

Nothing to do with post count. Has everything to do with the fact that he was around and posting his modest win rate when it was modest. so no trouble believing him now that he's killing it.

and, honestly, why would anyone lie? i mean, who really cares? if i am a losing player and come on here and say i win $40/hr at $1/$2, i'm still a losing player and now i'm a liar.

i keep a blog in pg&c ... no point in fabricating crap.

Way more credible than a pony, but less fun at a kid's birthday party, IMHO.

re: Winrates, bankrolls, and finances

In regards to Short stacking vs buying in full

do whatever nets you the highest hourly with the least amount of risk.

I think shortstacking 2/5-5/10 games is probably optimal for 99% of players ITT

youre going to have better brm
youre mistakes arent going to cost you 100-200bbs
when you **** up and lose you arent going to be as spew happy
and its quite possibly a much easier game to play

You could also just short stack between 5/10 and 2/5 and switch tables after every double up

this wouldnt be great for your hourly, but it might work out much better for some people, especially those with a strong math background but little experience playing live

My stepdaughter has a crapload of softball tournaments this spring over the border, so there's a chance I might get down your way.

FWIW, I don't think (?) I ever questioned your stats (like someone else said, there's no reason for any of us to lie); the only thing I suggested is keeping track of your actual hours, which I think is needed for simple comparative purposes.

I can juggle ponies. Had to stop doing it when the SPCA got on my case during the flaming ponies juggling part of the show, which was a shame cuz it was a real show stopper.

Downswing of $2200 over 113 hrs at ~$20hr. Mostly at 2/3 NLH with buy in max of $300.

How worried should I be of my poker skills? Is the amount of hours typical of a downswing or too long?

Maybe depends if you've put in lots of other hours beforehand as a solid winner?

That's likes less than one month of decent value of live poker. Having a losing month is nothing alarming.

It depends if he's never had a winning month beforehand (not saying he hasn't, just sayin').

You almost certainly have leaks, but it can still largely be attributed to variance if you have a winning history.

I will run with this.

Before my current downswing I was/am a winning player for 3 years or so. The volume was about 30 hours a month tho.

Thx for quick replies. Please continue with whatever shenanigans/derails were occurring.

ETA: yes, I have leaks and working on plugging them and becoming a better player.

2300 at that stake is nothin. Not even 10BI yo.
If you're a previous winner nothing to sweat unless you know it's because you're playing bad.
