Sessions: 72
Hours: 437.25
Win/Loss: $12,406

I'm beginning to feel pity for my opponents. It is with a heavy heart that I continue to enter the poker room and mercilessly destroy people emotionally and financially. The pain is evident on their faces even as they watch me sit down at the table. With higher games being a scarcity, I fear their suffering will be long and miserable.

With a name like clarence, 400 hours and a 1/2 player I doubt you would be top 10 on this forum. Why would you feel sad about beating 1/2 players? They are horrible and you get no bragging rights for being the best 1/2 player at your casino. Welcome to the forums you have alot to learn.

guess im a nerd i keep track of both numbers.

The numbers that only include playing, and not transport, eating, bathroom, etc, are useful because they are the appropraite numbers to use in figuring out things like SD, RoR, bankroll requirements to move up stakes, etc.

I've certainly never looked at both sets of numbers and said "man, i got to cut down on the bathroom-breaks its really killing my hourly" and im pretty sure no sane or rational person keeps the numbers for reasons like that.

My breaks tend to be somewhat long, as I dislike eating at the table, and go home for bathroom breaks of the.. ehh... solid variety.

I just don't have that much gonig on that i have to multi-task eating and poker.

Its more relaxing to get away from the table for 30 minutes, eat at my own pace without worrying about hands inbetween bites, chill and come back refreshed.

If the game is really good, or theres a monster list i might grab a granola bar at the table (i carry them with me) and wait for a better spot.

just whatever you do, don't be that guy who gets up for dinner break without picking up his chips.

Huh? Not sure what this means; everyone on their dinner break simply leave their chips at the table, what else are they supposed to do?

I only get out once a week. I'm missing as few hands as possible, so I always eat at the table and I try to time my piss breaks for EP hands.

I always eat at the table; either a sandwich that requires one hand or a fruit bowl and use a fork.

Would that make them E-pee hands?

i normally pick up my chips and give up my seat. but it depends on if there's a huge list and how long i intend to be away. Like a sitdown meal at grand lux, definitely. If im headed to wasabi janes or something i usually just leave them.

There's always a wait list in our room. If you're picking up your chips to go to dinner, you might as well make it a 3 hour dinner cuz it's unlikely you're getting back on the table any time soon. Plus, this also destroys your chip stack (i.e. having deeper stack fish covered) plus might get you off a good table.

As compared to what? I hate having 100bb stacks. I wish my 1/2 game had a 200bb cap lol.
Obv I'd rather be sitting on a 400bb stack if a fish has 400bb stack also.

to like a 400 BB stack. If the fish is just awful and pushing buttons, then sure, the deeper the better.

however, IME a 300bb+ stack puts you in a lot of tough spots where pot control considerations have to vie with maximizing your value as the primary tactical consideration, especially against V's who are not terrible terrible but upon whom you still have a significant edge.

I don't nec want to play a 400bb stack against a bad lag, or a spewtard.

I sometimes eat at the table, depending on the room I'm in ... but always either with utensils or one hand. It was a little tricky to get the hang of, playing with one hand and eating with the other, but you really don't want to touch the chips and then touch your food. Can't fathom how people do that, or why they don't wash their hands BEFORE taking a leak *shudders*

I don't explicitly track time spent on breaks unless they're hour+, or travel time/costs. But I've got several options for rooms to play in, ranging from 5/10 mins, to 30mins, to 1 hr away, some with tolls and some without. When I re-cap my results for the past few months I break them down by location and day of the week, and I estimate transportation time/costs based on the number of sessions played. Sometimes a room that looks more profitable initially ends up netting a lower hourly once you account for an additional 40 miles roundtrip.

This has never seemed to be a problem anywhere I've ever played. If the room doesn't have a waitlist then who cares? If it DOES have a waitlist then picking up your chips may delay you coming back after break. The right thing to do is let the floor know that you're going for dinner, a competent one will give you a cover for your stack and seat a playover in your spot to keep the game healthy until you get back.

150-300bbs is by far my preferred stack. I don't want to fold KK pre or to have no 4bet range. 150-200 is pretty good.

It becomes an issue because a table will have 9 players, and 3 of them will be at dinner, then ill come back from a smoke break and find my game breaking because no one wanted to play short handed.

The bolded is a fantastic idea. Ive never seen it done, but fully support it.

Your room doesn't have a "no third man walking" rule? i.e. only two players can be away from the table at one time, including dinner breakers (of which there can only be one), otherwise 3rd man walking has his chips picked up when it comes to his blinds
