Just completed 4k hours at $2/5NL. Most hours played in the Northeast US. I’m a rec player, retired, play ~1k hours annually.

My results were relatively steady throughout the first 2.5k hours. I essentially played tight ABC.

During Covid, I played 6-max online, and further studied configurations, 3-bet ranges, and bet-sizing to name a few. Results seem to reflect improvement, as my last 1.6k hours were @ 8.1BB.

No graphs, simple tables below.

4k lifetime at $2/$5 NL:
Hours 4.003.07
Hrly $32.11
BB/Hr 6.4

2.5-4.0k:
Hours 1,502.42
Hrly $39.20
BB/Hr 7.8

0-2.5k:
Hours 2,500.65
Hrly $27.85
BB/Hr 5.6

Very excellent!

Honestly, lasting for 4k hours is something that the majority of 'professionals' can't claim realistically. And making a solid profit (that's also well above the poverty line!) is great work.

Well done.

Nice results Samo!

Also can't recall too many (if any, maybe Squiddy, I'm probably missing some others?) 4K+ hour sample sizes for 2/5 (or even lower for that matter) being posted here.

After last night's session 1/3 NL session, I find myself stuck $1,127 (376bb) over the previous 3 sessions.

Amazing, that's something I haven't managed to do since Oct 10, 2017, so about 5.5 years (admittedly, close to ~2 of those years nuked due to Coronaids) and 255 sessions ago.

Nit life, yo. Lol @ me, ldo.

Ive hit a downswing recently as well. losing 4 of my last 5 sessions. Down 290bb. Took about 2 weeks off just to get away from poker for awhile. Plan on getting back on the tables next week sometime.

I'll be stuck like that during a session at least once a week.

Yeah, I certainly know I'm at the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to this sorta stuff. The thing I'm always super curious about is how those at the other end are doing overall in the same game. My guess is that I'm still doing better overall than most of them "long term" (lol @ whatever that means)... but it is also possible I'm delusional.

You're looking at poker as a rec social event that most people are paying to do. Even at breakeven, you are ahead of most.

It's not bad, but it's just silly to do only that when you can do more. But at the same time, you're convinced that you are doing the most, which is probably the delusional part.

But don't get me wrong - certain risk tolerance is probably engrained in you. Whatever you're doing is making you happy and that's all it matters.

Sick giraffe. How much harder was the 10/25 compared to 5/10?

Quite a bit, at 10/25 you cherish every recreational that sits down. Some days you will get lucky and it won't be harder than a 5/10 table but thats a small % of the time. The game is often at risk of snap breaking when its all pros + maybe 1 or 2 good recreational players playing short

These are great results, congrats.

I see that you started playing online. What stakes should one be beating online in order to crash the live stakes you 've been playing?

5/10 is about equivalent to 2nl. 10/25 is super variable so can't really say. Some nights its as hard as a 200nl table, other days if its soft with a bunch of recs 2nl

Interesting you say that, because my experience from fast fold 2NL is that the pop massively underbluffs.

I'm super nitty, too. In my last 750 hours, my biggest downswing is exactly $1,000 @ $1/2 (though I might break that tomorrow). It still amazes me that I can fold for 2 straight hours, raised to $15 and get 5 callers. The skill level jump from $1/2 to $1/3 in my area is huge.

Running pretty hot in February. Not putting in a ton of hours at the moment as I’m leaving game asap if it gets bad or certain players leave.

Very, very loose/passive 1/3 1k cap match stack game.

And the deeps stack play is very bad. Really good game.
