Yeah I believe that with $500+ max and run good it's possible for a good enough player to do over 800 hours. Though I don't think that's anyone's true long term win rate.

I know it said 800 hours, but over what stretch of time - is this only fridays/saturdays for months? 7 days a week? etc

edit: I missed it just above, 2 year timeframe

Id be shocked if the 800 hours aren't almost all peak hours Weekends and / or evenings

Not sure why posters make such a big deal about weekends but I don't think they are any more profitable than a weekday. Evenings and graveyard hours are much more significant than day of the week.

The thing about weekends is that, sure it brings more rec players, but many of these recs only buy in for small amounts and many play a weak passive style that doesn't lead to many large pots. Also, the fish are disturbed throughout many tables in the room. On a random Tuesday where there are only a few tables running, you can get 4-5 mega fish all in one table. Plus, the fact that they are at a casino on a Tuesday rather than a weekend makes them the kind of fish of the degenerate quality, and not a weekend warrior middle aged woman who sucks but plays like a nit.

At least where I play I almost prefer weekdays. I tend to play typical "after work" hours, 7-10PM random weekdays. The room runs Mon-Thur 6:30 tournies which are really soft and help feed the 1/2 games. The room is also infested with bad regs who I have pretty strong reads on, and we still get the occasional out of town drunks or other bad players. There's only a couple people I see put in enough hours that they might be pros, but I don't consider them all that good. It's pretty rare that I see someone who I would consider a good player.

On weekends instead of 3 to 4 tables running where I know half the people, it's 10-12 tables and I might know 1 or 2 per table. There also ends up being maybe 1 or 2 solid players per table. The ratio of crappy drunks to other players doesn't seem much better on the weekends either.

Ehhh rec players are still the best because when they run up their $100, they have no idea how to play (fold) AA postflop with $400.

Don't care how good your reads are on your regs, they prob don't torch in that manner. Problem with the above is the massive variance involved since it requires a specific chain of events.

I never play graveyard hours so I cant comment on that although Im sure its a great time to play. My win rate on weekends is a number that I would be accused of making up.
During the weekday daytime the place I play is littered with OMCs. They aren't great but they hold on to their chips like its their wife's secret cheesecake recipe.
Weekday evenings is a mix of the two. Better than daytime but not as good as weekends.

$ is made from "incinerators". An incinerator is a person who is not at the table to win. They are there to blow off some steam and blast through their money. They may or may not be drunk

Fun fact: incinerators are more present during weekend/graveyard hours

Incinerators also have to have a source of income, so they're likely occupied during non-weekend hours.

Awesome, thanks!

Looks like ~$28/hr overall (very nice!) and pretty much a steady-as-she-goes climb with no real dead spots / downswings (although hard to tell with the painted effect on the lines)?

I now have 9.5BI.

Realized last night that the correct play for me for a while now should be to stand up everytime I double up.

But who does that.

Some do. Most people aren't paying attention anyway. If a grinder notices he'll just think your fishy, which isn't a bad thing.

What do you guys think is an attainable winrate in a 1/2 game that has hands like this occur somewhat routinely.

3 limps to H who raises to 15 in HJ with 99. 5 callers.

Flop 245r
UTG leads 40. Folds to H who raises to 100. Folds to UTG who reraises to 200 all in. Turn 3 river 8. V shows JTo.

That's not even one of the better ones. 500 Eff. Player raises to 10. Gets 3! to 35 by small blind. Flop comes 357 no spade. Sb open shoves. Other player tanks and flips over JsQs. Calls it off. Sb flips over ATo. Turn brick. River Jack. QJ guy says he called because he was "hunting that guy".
