I think it was $50/yr. I was ok with that for the opportunity to not have 15k just lying around waiting to get burned up/stolen. Plus I felt like a gangster getting into my box to hide stacks of hundos (autocorrected to Hindus).

That's totally reasonable. I'll have to get around to that soon. May help me not spend winnings quite as quickly (in general, this weekend was out of the ordinary).

I'm kind of a miser. Mostly about security and being gangster for me. Also, probably the biggest advantage is that my wife can't ever ask me why we can't just use some of my poker money to buy x unnecessary thing she wants.

I am jelly. Not of the results but of their game conditions.

Thought for a moment a kindred spirit had a box with stacks of Hindus in it, but no...life is lonely sometimes

How much do you care about your standard deviation? I've been on autopilot for years and recently began to study my game again. I noticed my sd is out of wack. At the moment im over thinking it, curious what others have to say.

The only thing I care about SD is this:

What would be a great SD/win rate ratio? (meaning you are a winner and also doing it with small swings, winning consistently, and not winning and losing huge pots making you swing all over the place)
What would be pretty good
What would be a bad ratio

I care about it in the sense that I like to know what it is as it's useful for some analysis. Mine seems to be converging to around 95BB/h

Standard deviation is great for me because it helps with my life planning and stuff. Without the stat I wouldn't be able to establish my risk of ruin, bankroll reqs, and other info that is valuable to me wrt finances.

I play almost exclusively live PLO and over a 4k+ hour sample my standard deviation is about 20x my winrate.

Some of us like to live dangerously in life by not caring about our standard deviation.

i dont live dangerously...properly rolled understand that swings can and will happen. They are annoying but inevitable. Try and play well - not make stoopid cawls...not make ******o bluffs...and most important not do unnecessary mental masturbation

Pretty good. Could be running hot for those 400 hours, but it does look like you're probably a winning player. $27/hr is a very good winrate for $1/2. I'd expect that to settle down a bit over time.

Average of 3 hour per session tells me that you are likely just running hot and protecting your wins.

Session length shouldn't have any affect on winrate in this regards, should it?

Ooooorrr....he only has time to play 3 hour sessions.

oooooooorrrr...he logs in and out whenever he switches tables so the average session is shorter than his overall session.

Glad to see you're back to normal, RP

Session length has nothing to do with WR.

If anything, shorter sessions you would except a lower WR because you dont get a chance to build those 2k+ 1/2NL stacks.
