Will it work? Will it work?

Hello,

1/3 effective stack probably about 300

H: playing pretty tight possibly nitty.

V: relatively competent player don’t really know him too well and seems to play pretty ABC.

OTTH:

I open AcQs in cutoff to 10

V calls button. BB calls

Flop 10d 2d 3h checks through.

Turn Ks BB checks I bet 10 V calls button BB folds.

River 10c I check V bets 20 into 50.

We check raise to 80 total.

Thoughts? In my opinion I like doing it with my specific hand.

I can expound later on my reasoning. I never see anyone try this at 1/3

I think after you check flop/bet small turn/check river most people are going to have trouble believing you have a strong hand here. If you had TPGK+ would you really check the river after no one showed much interest on the turn?

The only thing you might get to fold is a bricked draw, but you beat those anyway and could just call.

The only way I see your line working is if the Villain is a weak player and fears your play. Given the descriptions, I doubt that's the case. A competent player will replay the action in his head and decide that you either have quad T's, or are FOS.

I hope he decided you had quads.

This line looks fishy, and I think you’d only get credit if you’ve shown a propensity to FPS in the past.

What hand exactly are you trying to rep?

Depending on the makeup of the rest of the table, I typically don't want a competent player to my immediate left.

With it folding to us at this stack size, I actually like the smaller open sizing to give us a more manageable SPR (I would either do this or raise very large to setup a commitment SPR).

I'm fine with giving up on this flop 3ways.

I'm fine with bluffing / semi-bluffing this turn card although I'd probably go slightly bigger.

I probably just give up on this river card. Kx is unlikely to fold in this size pot (in a really huge pot a big bet in turns of $$$ might get a fold but not in a pot this size). Tx is a possibility and obviously never folding. He could be on a busted draw which ABC players will probably check back a lot, so I just take my showdown value.

I'm not a fan of our check/raise. It's worthless against busted draws, and Tx is never folding. It may work against Kx, although I typically don't attempt to get TP to fold, especially when our line makes no sense.

Your turn bet is too small to do nothing. River... you have no idea of what he has. You have showdown value. I wouldn't raise there. What do you do when re-raised?

You're only getting a fish or a super nit to fold here unless they were on a pure bluff. You do need some bluffs on the river, but they should be when you miss or make a weak hand but the board completes draws in your range. Your river play doesn't fit with a strong hand considering the wet nature on the turn.

The only positive I can put in here is that your hand doesn't block many draw hands V could have.

I would be interested to see the responses if you had posted this without revealing your hole cards and then asked to put Hero on a range.

You are repping AK/KQ. Would you really check river with these hands? Your line looks sort of strange.

I’m curious about your reasoning. Did you ever think why you haven’t anyone seen doing that? Or did you see it at different stakes?

What hands would you play that line for value with?
