Remember calling or limping is bad. Raising gives you more ways to win.
1. These guys are calling extremely light, with as little as overcards, gutshots, or bottom pair. So TPTK and TPGK aren't going to win me the pot in a 5-way pot.
2. Trust me, I have tried raising, they call. We are playing fish here.
3. I have to 3bet more than 10% of my stack to thin the field, I can't be doing that profitably with very many hands. These guys are happy to go all in preflop with TT+, big aces, even KJs etc.
Calling or limping is not bad against terrible players. Value betting is how you make money from them. If they are going to call large value bets at any time, getting a cheap look at the flop with drawing hands like low suited connectors and pocket pairs to hit big is ideal.
