BB: calls $160
Flop: AA8 2 spades

Hero raises to $46
Button calls $46
BB folds
Turn: 3d
Whats my line here???????????? What do you think villian has.
He is a young kid with about 600 in front of him seems to be solid ok. He missed a few value bets. I only had about a 15 hand history with him.

I'd bet an amount that commits your stack. Anywhere from $100-$150. If he has 88 its a cooler. If he has an Ace your most likely have him out kicked with AQ since he's probably 3betting with AK.

Pretty easy b/f OTT and OTR but an argument can be made for b/c as well. Just flatting the flop when the action goes like this his range is pretty much {88,Ax}. I bet 60 OTT and ~150 OTR.

I ended up betting $103 he shipped it i called he had 88. I rebought and got in back plus $100 for me. I was talking to a buddy and i think that jarretman your right $53 seems like a good bet bc if he has a smaller ace he is going to call. If he raises i knw im no good bc he was a good player and knew what he was doing. my line sound of been bet fold.

I think bet/fold is better than bet/call...but not as good as c/r. When you lead this turn you're going to bet enough to cut off his odds on flush draws so his range becomes super strong when he raises, especially if he's not the type to semi-bluff weak draws.

When you check it opens his range up signficantly as he's now often betting Ax hands and draws. When you c/r all-in you'll get called by a significant number of combos that you're crushing. If he decides to check behind you can safely value bet the river.

If we b/f turn and then shove river we're still getting the same value versus Ax because most likely he's calling. When we c/r turn it shows a lot more strength and if villain is really solid like OP says then he could fold Ax and only call w/ a fh/AK (maybe fold AK but I really doubt it).

This all also assumes that villain would bet a draw and not check back to take a free card (or pot control with some weird hand we beat) if we c/r.

Check-raising seems bad to me here.

I agree, too many villains at 1/2 will chase the nut flush draw to the river here.
