Playing $1-2 at the v. I am having a good session. $800 in my stack started with $300. Hand in question, standard 1-2 donk limps in ep with $180 or so folds around to the sb who calls, he has $310 or so, and seems fairly competent, is a vegas local, I raise to 12 in the bb with AQs, the first limper calls and so does the sb, flop comes QJ3 rainbow, sb checks, I bet 25, 1st limper folds, sb check raises to $75 pretty quickly, what is the best line here, just call and see what develops in position on the turn, make it 175 and call an all in, fold, go all in myself he has like $230 behind
This is a nightmare situation. SB's range includes QJ, 33, KQ, and AQ when its rainbow.
You have position but I really don't like calling 50 more than folding OTT. I think your best bet is to shove or fold, and I am leaning towards a fold.
I find that even competent villains will c/c with just a queen more often than c/r. Since you only beat small portion of a value c/r of KQ and tie with AQ (I think he raises a lot of these hands preflop with just one limper) I think you should just muck and move on.
Think of your perceived range in BB. Raising limper from the BB is usually a strong hand, and this is supposed to have hit your range a good amount of the time. Add the fact that he c/raised.
They are possibilities, but unlikely. I would only add this to his range if he has a history of big semi bluffs, however you didn't put much about him except he is competent
Good lord, this is a crappy spot. If villain is a fairly competent reg, then this is a pretty obvious spot to c/r as a bluff. I hate laying down TPTK to one bet, but I guess it's the best line with relatively little invested.
If this keeps happening, though, you're going to have to be prepared to look him up, I think villain is FOS here a lot of the time.
I fold, but if I don't I call, and pray to get to showdown i guess. If we are going to call we have to know that villian won't barrel turn with OESD, since we don't know the SB's tendencies here, I would just dump it.
