and if it's a Qx type hand i think, we are calling to chop at most

yet decision is often better made after the hand

Spoiler:
turn came an 8 and river came an 8. Hero was so happy because hero figure it's a chop until villain showed AQo

If you were happy with a chop, why call anyways?

I hate to look like a jerk, but an act live almost always is strong. And if you admit you didn't think you would win, why call? You seem to know this was a fold but talked yourself into a call. This happens to the best of us, kind of a cooler, move on. It was really close, but with an act, I fold here.

I think I did this once before realizing how ******ed I looked. "Uhg, man... umm... *sigh*, guess I should fold here.... fvck it, allin".. Obv I had a monster.

"Hrm what should I do?... gee I don't know...oh I guess... AWRR INN!" Pretty classic monster-tell, Caro even devotes a significant chunk of a chapter to this type of "weak means strong" act.

Unfortunately you too have a monster and you're playing live SSNL; so villain could conceivably turn over a head-scratcher.

I puke and shove.

We have to be careful with action tells etc, but this one i think i have only seen by novice players, and its 100% monster, or at least monster in villains eyes.

I have seen that act so many times, and it always means the player thinks they have a monster.

However there's a lot of really bad low stakes players out there who will think they have a monster when they make a straight on a double-paired board. e.g. TTJJQ and they have called all the way with AK and do the same shove thinking they hit their jackpot card on the river.
