It's when someone calls off a hand knowing/or that it was painstakingly obvious that they are way behind but cant fold due to fishy curiousity to see the next street/or the opponent's hand if the call was otr.

When used by the caller, used as a justification for their call.
When used by someone else towards the caller, used as a needle as to how obviously bad the call was.

like giving away money on the tables.

When someone says "donation" while calling on the river it is another way of saying they are making a crying call. They don't expect to win, but want to see what you have or their hand is good enough they can't give it up for a small bet.

Sometimes used preflop when calling a large bet or a shove with a marginal hand.

Donators is a friendly more PC term for losers, fish, or suckers at a poker table also. I prefer it cause I am one too much of the time.

but wont they see the others person cards on showdown anyways? if they call on the river which implies the other player bet/raised?

or if i make a call and someone says "donation" to me, that means he's basically saying im a sucker at the table and that was a bad call on my part?

If somebody else says your call is a donation, it can be a bit of an insult, depending on context. They are saying you should never have thought you had a chance of winning and should not have called. Having one call described as a donation doesn't really quality as an insult unless there is some history or context, they are just saying you made a mistake. If used over and over though, it is rather insulting because they are saying you are making mistake after mistake.
